You know, most religions are deeply superstitious, and almost fearful of women and female sexuality, and it has resulted in many religions restricting women in some way, shape or form. Maybe women just need to band together and form their own religion

Maybe Jesus was married, that would of course be the norm. Maybe he wasn't, which leads to speculation that Jesus was gay.

I got this from another poster here who's said merely; "You have to look at it from a technological  point of view. Papyrus scrolls were the sms text of it's day. Follow the girl talk".

Okay, this one made me laugh....how true....how true...

And it paid off: Many Christian populations are among the most advanced populations on Earth, with the lowest frequencies of inherited diseases and evil and the most beautiful people. This algorith works for us. Let's not change it, lest we revert back to animal status.

Historically, the rise and imposition of Christianity heralded the loss of civilization and advancement. Western societies began re-advancing with the Renaissance, which included the beginning of restoration of pre-Christian civilization, science and learning. This process continues. Thus, the "Christian" societies in question are in reality at least partly post-Christian. Also among the currently most advanced populations? Some non-Christian societies, such as Japan.

Going back to the OP - there's nothing particularly new in this find; the significance seems to be in the scrap of papyrus being the oldest surviving one that mentions such details. Still, as has been said, it doesn't actually prove anything other than that someone once wrote those words. Just like the internet, anything could be written on a piece of papyrus, with no connection to whether or not it is true.

Partly? Puhleezzz! What contributions have been made by christianity to modern society? Otherwise, your premise is well stated.

I do not agree. Huge changes occurred during the Mediaeval Ages in Western and later in Eastern Europe. And thanks to the reproductive algorithm of Christianity those populations started to evolve until finally they were ready for:

Quite.

That is why I said "among".

Well...: it evolved you.

Umm. Okay, I take that back as it might be a bad example.
