Today the GOP Senators blamed Obama for the recess, while failing to mention that the GOP led house announced last week it was taking a very long recess...

Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, called on Senate Democrats to not take recess until progress is made on the so-called fiscal cliff, the battle over taxes and spending, which needs to be resolved before the end of the year.

Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., likened them to her time as a former preschool teacher, when, on the last day of school before summer, there was always one student who hadn't done any homework all year long and finally showed up on their best behavior, homework in hand, hoping to leave a good impression.

Huh the fiscal cliff..does that not have to start in the GOP led House???? They control the purse strings..or did the rules change???

Keep in mind that the Radicals want the nation to fall off this 'fiscal cliff' - the result will be across the board cuts in government spending, and they can blame Obama for it. Go figure.

LMAO!

I hate how politics gets in the way of the politicians. Stupid fuckers. They know damn well Obama doesn't call things to order, determine recesses, etc. If anything, that's on Harry Reid, but, without the House in session, not a whole fucking lot is going to get done.

Like I said, stupid fuckers.

(and, just so there is no misinterpretation, "stupid fuckers" refers to the Senate Republicans blaming Obama)

Really? The President can't order congress back into session? Are you sure?

Peace and comfort,

Michael

that was never stated what was stated was he GOP led house holds the purse strings, and announced their recess last week.

Gosh I wonder how the GOP would cry to have to come back to vote on something they will all vote against...Obama should call them back into session and have the vote before the election, just like they voted against the Vets earlier

I stand corrected. Thank you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_Two_of_the_United_States_Constitution

From Article II. Section 3...
    quote:

Clause 3: Calling Congress into extraordinary session; adjourning Congress
The President may call extraordinary sessions of one or both Houses of Congress. If the two Houses cannot agree on a date for adjournment, the President may adjourn both Houses to such a time as befits the circumstances. The last time this power was exercised was in 1948, when President Harry S. Truman called a special session of Congress. That was the twenty-seventh time in American history when a president convened such a session.

Excellent strategy! Obama should rub their noses in it every chance he can.
