I'm sorry but this is the general BDSM question section of the message board not the personals.
Perhaps if you had started a thread regarding stomach punching or even punching in general. So let me help...

Is anyone into punching play? Especially stomach punching? What risks do you need to take into consideration, I know you would want to avoid lower back in punching play because of potential organ damage but are there any health risks in punching stomachs. How about using whips or crops across the abdomen?

ETA Didn't Houdini die from an unprepared punch to the stomach region?

Lateral abdominal strikes are fine where whips or crops are concerned. The worst you might develop are welts or lacerations.

As you intimated, Cryptic, the real concern is about organs. The big obvious is to NEVER take side shots, those can be just as jarring as back shots to organs like the kidneys. For the same reason, you want to keep the blows lower on the torso and preferably angled, instead of dead on.

This isn't a particular kink about mine, but I do like my anatomy studies. I've been drawing from anatomy books since 1979.

You pick up a thing or two.

I've hit a girl hard in the belly once or twice in my day.
Now, before the safety folk hop all over me (With good cause I might add), in my defense, let me mention that I took lots and lots of martial arts in the day and know how to throw a punch.
As in, I used to hit sheets of glass, but pull back just as the blow landed, so that my fist never went through the glass but the reverberations made the glass vibrate and then crack.
I've used pretty much the same technique when stomach punching. Any damage done, which is minimal at the worst, is only surface level and can't impact the organs beneath.
So no, don't be trying this at home. At least not until you've notched several dans on the old black belt and your sensei approves

I would think that belly punching would be a kind of more advanced punching play. I have taken a class in punching and kicking - the class was called 'rough body work', and they were all about focusing on the big bones of the bady, that could take the punch. I think if you start punching soft areas you need a lot more training under your belt. Like Kana had, I can see him being safe with that.
when you pull back at the last moment, as if to crack instead of shatter glass, how does it feel to the sub? I mean, does it hurt, how much, ect? I know pain is hard to quantify, but I'm very curious now.

One of my former Masters was the most consumate sadists I have ever known. For a pain slut like me, it was, sexually, a perfect relationship. If the OP wants to be safe, I suppose he could get some martial arts sparring gear (like say, this one). I know that doesn't look sexy, but I've never seen anybody get injured from a punch or kick the chest or stomach or side while wearing one - but you can still feel the force well enough to knock the wind out of you pretty good. I'd still be careful about the lower back, though.

What Master said. It doesn't really hurt....just a little terrifying as you watch it coming your way. Of course, we haven't been doing anyhing like this or anything else near my stomach for months so because of health problems that have nothing at all to do with playing.

As for the bruises....I love Master's bruises, after he's done.

I would run if he didn't have a habit of punching arms and legs when I least expect it.
