What Yachtie suggests is neanderthal / Nazi and shows just how far along the rightwing has gone in its acceptance of twisted logic.

Your notions are wholly absurd and I shall ignore them.

Of course you will. As I said, your position is indefensible. It's not how far along the right wing has gone but the left. Socialism posited as the norm. Revisionist history at work. What so many fought and died for is now extreme and deemed twisted logic.

The general welfare does not go the individual. Your posit as to corporations is absurd and I shall ignore it as you have set up a false either/or.

Your idea of general is highly skewed. Here's an example. Food stamps. Accessible to those who Qualify. It's that qualification which separates it from any form of general welfare. To be generally applied it must be accessible to all at all times regardless whether one wishes to access or not. The act of qualification removes it from any general into specific. The postal service can be seen as general as it is accessible to all at all times.

So you're in favor of letting children starve? Is that really where you think this country should go?

Here's another. Unless government, children starve. Unless government, X shall happen.

See, unless government does it - WE'RE FUCKED!

besides, my opinion on DomKen's statement has no bearing on whether food stamps qualify under the general welfare clause. He's appealing to emotion.

So, what's the point? The point is "the general welfare" clause does not give anyone the power to change anything for the welfare of specific people. It does not give anyone the power to redistribute wealth for the "general welfare" of a specific group of people.

Be well,

Arturas.

Good, so when are we dismantling every railroad in this country and giving it all back from whence it came, the people?

When are we going to dismantle every corporation and give it back to whence it came, the people?

When are you going to declare the United States an 'Indian' reservation and give it all back from whence it came, the people?

I havent seen the conservatives, or you or any of you liberal interpreters, who claim its a conservative interpretation of that clause on the television or radio, or in the newspapers, doing anything except misinforming people on a fuck site.

But the clauses I  underlined gives them the power to tax for it, the making of laws are somewhere else in there.   We are specifically talking the taxation, and if their idea for the tax does not become a law, or does not serve every last fuckin man woman and child, it has nothing to do with this thread.  They can tax without restriction, and you can have a hearing of a redress of your grieveance.
