Being a good relationship partner outside of the whole BDSM thing. Yanno, vanilla compatibility. IMO, the rest should flow naturally from that.

What is the matter with you people? Even if you got her, she is still just one sock short of a pair.

For me a "good" master has great self control, doesn't act out of anger, knows himself very well, and is (dah!) a dominant man. He is also something of a sadist, and knows how to listen.

everything else is window dressing.

Good decision making skills. If you want to be the one in charge, that means you're responsible when things go south. Which means it's really important that things go badly as rarely as possible. If you can't think things out, or don't have sufficient knowledge to know what you're doing, then you aren't safe to play with or turn control over to.

Recognizing your own limitations is essential.

Intelligence, maturity, sence of humour, got
their life under control, responsible, confidant,
self reliant, competent/capable, understanding,
good social skills, down to earth.........

My Owner has all the qualities that I need in a Dominant, hence why he owns me.
These include but are not limited to;
a strong sense of will.
a firm hand
a guiding voice.
confidence not arrogance
what he says is what happens
consistency

Honesty, integrity, compassion, empathy, humility, level-headedness, confidence, intelligence, responsibility and common sense. Also, a good sense of humor. [:)]

A good dominant leads yet almost never follows. A good dominant doesn't destroy valuable property (including their slaves) because only someone insane permanantly damages something they own. They brook no nonsense and quickly quell any sign of rebellion without anger but a have a strong will to see rebellion finished. They are the decision maker.

Honesty, intergrity, confident, responsible, loving, good sense of humor, intelligent, respectful ,set goals and takes steps to achieving them, good listener(that actually hears what I am saying) Doesn't back down challenges(be if lifestyle or otherwise) Have my back no matter what..because I will surely have his. Allows me to be myself.
