So in attempting to talk about the teachers unions, Willard actually speaks out against Citizens united..
, but I do not think he has realized what he has said yet, so I'm sure once he does he will flip flop yet once again

"I just think that the most important aspect in being able to have a productive relationship between the teachers’ unions and the districts in the states that they are dealing with is that the person sitting across the table from them should not have received the largest campaign contributions from the teachers’ union itself. . . . The largest contributors to the Democratic Party are the teachers’ unions, the federal teachers unions, and so, if [the unions] can elect someone that person is supposed to be representing the public vis a vis the teachers’ union, but actually most of their money came from the teachers’ union. It’s an extraordinary conflict of interest. That’s something I think is a problem and should be addressed.""

Insert oil, gas lumber, beef, pharm, big AG, for teachers union........GOP for Dems ets etc etc....

So it only stand to reason the same is true about every type of corporation who donates, or is it just unions who give to the Dems that are attempting to influence elected officials...

Oil, gas, lumber, beef, pharm, big AG are not run and paid by the government. Therein lies the difference. In order for your analogy to work, the government would have to own those companies.

Ever hear of a subsidy??? Ever here of tax laws, or deregulation, all the industries I mention donate huge amounts of money and receive tax payer money in the form of subsidies, they get laws written which protect them against law suits from taxpayers in this countries, get laws passed so government dept's have no power to enforce laws

Like the current one in the house with a special section protecting mansanto from any type of government over-site, never mind that Willard worked from them through Bain and his relationship with them allowed him to open up Bain Capital

They get a lot of assistance from the tax payer for the elected officials they purchase

I did not know that teachers union where as you state are run and paid for by the government?

Seven, are you even remotely aware of what Citizens United is and what it's done to the political environment?

I'm going to assume you're terribly uninformed as opposed to simply lacking in some fashion.

Teachers are (largely) paid for by the govt.

Unions get their dues from teachers.

Ergo, sum.

So citizens united is the Libertarian party...which would see us go back to VERY limited government and a lot of power to the states (basically state soverieignty.) Which is a problem. We tried it once... Articles Of Confederation. They didn't work, thus we got our current constitution. Imagine if we went back to them, the next time around, we could end up with something much more conservative... (Shudder)

Uhhhhmmmmmm....."Citizens United" was a Supreme Court decision that essentially allowed unlimited financial displays by corporations because it was (for practical purposes) deemed that "corporations are people too".

No one should have any illusions that politicians who enjoy massive support from teachers’ unions are any less corruptible than those who enjoy the support of Republican casino billionaires

Let's go back to the Citizens United issue.

Have you grasped that concept yet?

Are you aware it's NOT a political party? Rather, a Supreme Court edict?
