ROFL Maybe it says we are easily amused? Or I am at least ... I have no shame. I find it amusing when people come to the forums to post their 'personal ad' ... I said its *like* a really sad reality show where all these single guys show up and beg for a date ... I did not say anyone was actually begging ... Yet. The thread is young. There's still time ... Anyway ... I understand being single and wanting someone to fill that void. I'm not into 'casual' encounters myself so when I'm single, I'm REALLY single. I've also decided to take a whole new approach (for me) to dating ... I won't go into the details because I'm sure no one cares but it may mean that I'm going to be a single girl for quite some time. I guess I just have the attitude that there's a time and place for everything ... The forums really aren't the place to make a post saying, "I'm single and seeking etc etc etc, email me if you're interested." Thats what your profile is for ... To me, and this is my humble opinion so take it or leave it, the forums are where you express your views, share knowledge, get to know other people ... Besides, this is a proven fact, the person who sends the first email usually ends up being the "pursuer" for the duration of the relationship. I, personally, want to be pursued and courted, not the other way around. I almost never make initial contact through email anymore. It always bites me in the ass. I figure if someone is going to be interested in me, I want him to be interested in my thoughts, how I present myself to the community as a whole (not just him when I'm trying to be all impressive) including when I'm pissed off and ranting or when I'm making a really valid point, and those things drew him to read my profile and *THEN* he decides to approach me. I guess I just don't see how effective it would be ... But again, this is my point of view. You may have a different one.
