Which is just like the Taliban. So 'legally' the US can execute him extra-judicially with a drone strike, right?

Yup. Though a drone strike at Mr Assange's current residence, the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where Mr Assange is seeking asylum, might be just a tad over the top.

This latest designation - "Enemy of the State" - adds weight to the fears that the US has Assange firmly in its sights and is determined to get him one way or another. And if trumped up charges of sexual misconduct in Sweden fail to deliver Assange's body for legal incarceration, there's lots of other options for troublesome journalists other than drone strikes........

The supine craven reaction of the Australian Govt - delivering yet another Aussie citizen up as fodder to the US war machine, rather than telling Uncle Sam to keep its bloody paws off Australian citizens - sickens me.

I don't see how the US government can be viewed as anything but a terrorist criminal organization.

Easy... Because Romney hasn't been elected yet.

Let me suggest that the National Times of Australia has gone way over the top with its headline
US calls Assange 'enemy of state'

Reading further into the article reveals that this was a counterinteligence investigation of one of our own analysts, which was shut down with no charges being filed.

There was no such designation made by any of the three major branches of the United States Government.

My government does many things wrong, I will admit, but this news article and this thread are totally and hysterically misleading imo. Give it a rest folks with your silly suggestions that Assange can be extra-judicially offed. FFS!
