GreedyTop -> HELP! How can I lock the settings? (9/30/2012 8:50:55 AM)

due to my current vision issues, I keep adjusting the text size to *mumble* percent. For some reason, it keep adjusting itself downwards (in apparently random increments). Is there a way to lock a text size setting on IE?

uuummm.....time for reading glasses Greedy. [X(]

I tried to change the fonts on my computer but they would always change depending on the website I was on and it drove Master crazy, so I now have 3 pair of reading glasses so I'm never without a pair lol.

Not positive this is your answer....but try this to see if it helps

Click TOOLS then select INTERNET OPTIONS
Then click the ACCESSIBILITY button
Check the box that says "Ignore font sizes specified on web pages"

Otherwise a quick way to zoom in and out in your browser.....just hold CTRL and roll your mouse wheel

LW... I can't find ones that work! the distance I need at work is different than what I need for my laptop - and I am a lousy judge of distance even at the best of times (like 20 yrs ago...)!!

Thanks, MG... trying that, wil see what happens....

There is another section in IE that may be forcing the reset.
Try this to see if it accepts the font size you've selected on future internet visits.

*smoooches Poise*

Oddly, I seem to have got it sorted for the forums, and the main screen on the other side... but the actual profile texts still make me squint while imitating a demented chicken...LOL

Greedy,

I am in Trifocals.

Reading glasses could never be an option for me as I have astigmatism.
I did have 2 separate pairs the previous time I got glasses but I really needed mid-range coverage.

They are progressive lenses and I really love them.

I'm dating a guy who thought he had just gotten cool/hip glasses because the hot young sales girl told him they were "progressive". hahahah
I had to break it to him what that really meant.

Sorry, it has to be said: Mozilla.

It's a lot cheaper than trifocals.

If you can switch browsers, there is some merit to looking into other options. Firefox and Chrome both let you specify minimum font sizes. Chrome also lets you set a default zoom level, and Firefox has add-ons, like NoSquint, that are even more full featured.
