MasterJohnSteed -> Hunting for answers (10/2/2012 4:00:32 PM)

I've decided to start a hunt for someone from High School.

I've done Facebook, NADA, I've tried all my old Skip Trace Techniques that I've use over the years to find out info on people, nope Can't find them.
I even talked to her best friend, She hasn't seen her in 22 years.

All of my friends from HS say that as far as thy know she flipped out and was committed to the mental hospital and is in a rubber room. (That can't be right because South Carolina shut down the state mental hospital 20 years ago and now they are committed to only locking up the violent)

SO if you were looking for someone from 1986 and they were female (Possible name change) where would you start?

Last known place and piece together the clues from there. She could be in a hospital in a neighbouring state? Although no-one seems to be able to confirm if she were one of those violent ones or not.

This isn't the girl you were dreaming about is it? Do you REALLY want to be responsible for someone who's being locked up for violent psych issues based on a dream?

FR
Sometimes people can't be found because
they don't want to be found least of all by
people from the past.

If none of the People Search type searches give you results I would try [her name] + obituary.

Not all psych hospitals are public. She could be in a private facility. Look for her family, and see if they will help you.

I would always check the obits first.

No, there were two girls I had a crush on in High School

1) Cindy J: I assume that she is still married to that little gomba, that she introduced me to. Cindy is the one I was dreaming of. Cindy was 5'2" and the Gomba she was married to was shorter than she was and looked like he could have been a cast member reject from the Movie "Good Fellas" SHUDDER!

2) Tammie C: She was my other dream. I am 6'3" and she was about 6'0". She was tall, with long blond hair and blue eyes. I mean Stereotypical Aryan Blonde but 100% country girl. She had a problem with always dating the wrong guy. She was the one that got the beat down from her redneck boyfriend Senior year.

I know its stupid to try to hang onto old dreams. but at the same time. I have grown, I have matured, I am a better person than I was then. Every day in Every way..... I mean if I get lucky great, if not atleast I can say I tried, and I have closure.

aaalllrrrighty then.

Can't say I understand wanting to look up school mates from oh...30 years or so? If you can't find her then she doesn't want to be found. And if she's dead, do you really wanna know that?? I wouldn't personally.

I have high school buddies from high school on my FB but I never went searching for them. Either FB contacted me with them because of our simliar background or someone from there contacted me with reunion info which hooked us all up. Then again, I never go to reunions either. I have found them to be completely boring and stupid.

Or it could be she got married and has a new last name now.

I don't know what your skip trace techniques are, but some things you might try (if you haven't already) are:

1. Genealogy...there are several online sites, and I think the LDS people have a very extensive genealogy source that includes a lot of non-LDS people. If you can find some of her relatives then you might be able to find her.

2. Public records...(births, deaths, marriages, divorces, criminal records, etc.) there is usually a small fee for the records search, but it isn't usually too much, so depending on how bad you want to find that person it may be a valuable source.

3. High school...I know that at my old school there is one of my former classmates (class of '70) that keeps track of where most of the other classmates are now located so that she can send them notices of alumni activities such as reunions. If your class or school has such a person you might be able to get information through them. They might not give you the other person's actual address, but may contact that person on you behalf and let them know you are interested in contacting them.

Good luck.
