Well, I am not a slave; however, I feel much worse when the punishment is emotional. Physical pain is more cathartic...at least for me.

i agree, when Sir punishes me physically i feel pain but the emotional punishment is much worse. either from Sir or from myself. I have noticed when Sir gives me solely physical punishment that i emotionally punish myself after.

The two most popular answers in the "what's the worst punishment" survey is 1) Being ignored 2) Knowing I've disappointed FOr me it's also knowing I've wasted time we could be enjoying together and that it's causing the OTHER person pain and energy to have to go through the process of punishment/retraining/re-evaluating the situation and so on. But it is always important for one NOT to get stuck in the "poor me/I hate feeling bad about myself/I suck" cycle- because that does no one any good.

I will go with the "When I havent been pleasing" and that has a mental and emotional reaction for me. I dont see those feelings or thoughts as punishment of themselves as I simply process those things, make some adjustments within myself etc. So there is another part of me that wants an obvious interaction between Master and myself when I havent been pleasing, its almost a symbolic play-out of us both being conscious that I've screwed up in some way. Master actually doing something, intialising something because Ive fucked up, takes my control away. I dont know if I'm expressing this very well...but I'm very good at processing things, when I process, I'm in control, so in a way I'm discluding Master from his authority over me..so to balance that up and change it...Master actually intialising a repercussion for my action is very good for me...Ugh..did that make sense? So basically...untill that happens...I dont feel totally "good" about the situation.

I agree but needed to hear other opinions. I think emotional depriviation (not sure of spelling) is one of the worst. Like ignoring the slave or not letting him to serve.

Emotional punishment would be worse then physical but thankfully my Master is not big on either type. Sure if i strp out of line i will be displined but he does not do that just for kicks. Master said if he did not allow me to serve him it would be punishing himself as well so he would not do that. I am harder on myself then he is. Matt's littleone

Emotional without a doubt. The pain can fade. If you've ever seen the look of disappointment on your master's face, you'll never forget it. It can rip right through you. Little else matters but correcting the mistake and learning never to do it again. I was instantly very sorry for what I did just from that look of disappointment and knowing he was not pleased with my actions. He didn't have to say a word. I never repeated that mistake.

emotional - definately. The mental punishment can be far more devestating than any physical punishment could be. You learn not to make a mistake again after that type of use of your emotions.

for me definitly the emotional.. and i fully agree with LA.. being ignored and the knowledge that i have disappointed sometimes i get the feeling it does split me and my being is like a puzzle i have to collect all pieces and put them together... isn't funny at all....

Emotional punishment for me is much more painful than the physical. Sometimes i'm not sure who doles out that sort of punishment...me or Him. Either way it seems to last longer than anything physical ever could.

It depends, for me. i feel that the emotional/mental punishment is much worse (all it takes is a look), i'm also rather afraid of canes. If i'm punished with a cane? It's punishment, and nothing else. So that can be bad too. :)

Emotional. KNowing that I've disapointed him and hearing his quiet firm words of You have upset, disapointed, etc.. me is the most devastating thing to me. You can punish and beat me all you want nothing will compare to the way I feel right then and there and hearing those words. It will be less likely that I will ever make the same mistake twice.

It's most definitely emotional for me, since physical pain isn't a punishment. Knowing i've disappointed my dominant is punishment enough. And even worse when it comes to being ignored. Ick.

Emotional pain is worse b/c you can sit there and run it through your head over and over. This one loves her Master with all her heart and just knowing she has done something that has displeased Him hurts her deeply. And the bigger the fuck up, the bigger the hurt.

I have not had physical punishment...well.. I guess I did.. I was slapped across the face a few times pretty hard..but that's about it. It's the emotional that kills me..that hurts..that is the worst. Being ignored..the isolation..the sound of the voice..things of that nature.. all of that does more than any whip could ever do..of that I have no doubt. ~Ticia

Emotional, without a doubt. Knowing I have failed and disappointed him is the worst feeling in the world. And his words to me as a result are worse than any blow.
