So what is contrived and fake? Some might think that using stolen photos of people that are not themselves and starting a thread on fakes after being on the site for a few hours is fake. Just an FYI, no one is going to post on this thread saying they want to hook up with you- the discussion boards are used for discussion. They're not for the purpose of matching people up. You'll still have to weed through profiles, write emails, and give it some work.

Most are fake or placed by females who are seeking to play games! Or maybe I just have the wrong take..... So called submissives and slaves on here don't even know what vanilla courtesy is much less the courtesy due a D/M here!

I think that everyone deserves courtesy. Manners are free. What many people seem to conflate with courtesy is RESPECT, and that often takes specific forms. It's reasonable for me to ask to be called Hibbie, it's not reasonable to expect to be called by a title.

But, if you've sent an email to someone and ignored what they're looking for because you somehow think you're so sparkly and special that she should just throw those standards away....then you don't deserve courtesy because you've already thrown courtesy out the window by not respecting my boundaries. (Whew! run on sentence) Judging by the journal entry, I'm guessing that's what happened. He's calling out the "poseurs" and says that no one is a perfect match and it requires some flexibility.

I find that when people respect you that you don't have to demand, or even ask for it. When a person has given others no reason to be respected, or even reasons why they should be disrespected, is when they start hawing about how others are lacking in giving respect. When the very same people show respect to some and not to others, it's the ones not receiving said respect that should look at themselves to see where they are lacking.

It's true that I don't complain about being treated "disrespectfully", ever. We're just a bunch of people out here, and strangers are in no relationship to me. It's equally amusing when I explain that I don't wish to be called "mistress", and they get huffy with ME for not wanting "respect" the way they see it. [8\|]

If you live your life in a manner that others respect, and you conduct yourself in a respect-worthy manner, you never have to ask for it to be given to you. You are absolutely right LadyPact, if you have to ask for others to respect you, it seems that in a general sense there is a reason why you don't really deserve it. People seem to sense how they view the worth of another, and they act accordingly. Sometimes that takes some time, sometimes not.
