Pro-Life Congressman Pressured Mistress To Get An Abortion |

Rep. Scott DesJarlais (R-TN) told his mistress to get an abortion for the sake of his marriage, despite his pro-life views, in a conversation obtained by the Huffington Post. Rep. DesJarlais, who supported the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act” — a bill that included “forcible rape” language in one of its early drafts — demanded that his lover end her pregnancy, saying, “You told me you’d have an abortion, and now we’re getting too far along without one.” The lawmaker has faced accusations of hypocrisy before; although he voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, he later celebrated the construction of a health clinic in his district funded wholly by Obamacare.

DesJarlais, who now is running against Democrat Eric Stewart, was provided a copy of the transcript, the website said, and did not deny it, but said in a statement that it was just dirty politics.

So abortion is ok for the mistress a GOP Rep. , but no one else in this country..Now that is a flip flop

Who would want to bring another republican into this world when Obama is turning us into Sharia Law and socialism though?

Oh, BTW, they are also the party of fiscal responsibility (Nyuk Nyuk.)

little bit more from the transcript, which it turns out HE recorded the conversation.....

"You told me you would have time to go with me and everything," the woman complains.

"I said, if I could, I would, didn't I? And I will try," DesJarlais says. "If I can [find] time, you're saying you still will?"

"Yeah," the woman answers.

The two bicker over when they can meet to hash out a solution, and they make clear the nature of their relationship when DesJarlais says delaying a resolution isn't fair to his wife.

"This is not fair to me. I don't want you in my life," the woman says.

"Well, I didn't want to be in your life either, but you lied to me about something that caused us to be in this situation, and that's not my fault, that's yours," the doctor responds.

"Well, it's [your] fault for sleeping with your patient," the woman fires back.

So it appears even as he voted to ban birth control to women with insurance, for religious reason, he still feels it is the woman's job to take care of it

We should not judge one bad apple of a Republican spoiling the whole of the barrel. We should notice and object when all the ... OTHER ... apples in said barral are ... ALSO .... bad! Would you buy a barrel of apples if you had to, from a salesman whom can not admit that the fruit is obviously well beyound the point of spoiled? Seems its becoming 'normal' to me, that yet ... ANOTHER ... Republican in either the states or federal level has done something A) Immoral, B) Illegal, C) Untrustworthy, or D) unethical. Many Americans trusted these guys with the nation's security; and we got attacked on 9/11! We trusted them with our country's financial future; not only did they kill a good surplus on the budget by making it a deficit (but spent 'high on the hog' with a high debt). They have even gone out of their way recently to allow Corporations to be people, and to surpress voting by seniors, students, homeless, or anyone that might vote Democrat in the 2012 election. They have been the engineers of undermining this nation in so many ways.

If I wanted my nation to be destroyed, I'd vote Republican in 2012. I think there are more than enough examples on the table that the majority of people running for office or re-election under the Republican ticket are either criminal, corruptable, or willing to turn a blind eye to both (but boy, will they go after a Democrat for doing the same thing like a hungry dog to a piece of steak)!

Where do I blame the whole GOP???? Though it would be nice to hear some of them condemn this man and pull their money out.. But that would allow the DEM to win and we can't have that can we...

just like they are now dumping money into Akin's race supporting him just a few weeks after they condemned him...Now that is the GOP problems....everyone one who supports him and his views..Cantor, The Boner..and the whole lot

Well, you know if that was a democrat Akin or this fucking asshat, they would be calling for his head and talking about hypocrisy and how they are ruining the country.

Did anyone else get this.....not only cheating on his wife, but breaking his work ethics and sleeping with his patient no less.

The laughable part is some republicans will STILL vote for him, despite the lack of morals.

Expecting a man who would cheat on his wife to hold some professional standards.....is a stretch,to say the least

Yes, I noted that too. By rights he should be struck off the register of medical professionals and kicked out of the healing profession until he re-acquaints himself with professional ethics. He should consider himself lucky not to have to sign on a register of sex criminals.

What does it say about politics and politicians that some who ought to be disbarred from practicing medicine is considered by some to be a suitable person to enact the laws of the country? That the GOP puts him forward for election tells us all we need to know about how selective their morals are, and how contrived and rotten their so-called 'stand on principle' against womens' health rights is.

Doubtful he will come before the AMA on this one unless she files a complaint.

Or the wife makes a stink.

Seems its ok for a man to want his mistress to get an abortion, but not for a woman to decide on her own she wants one!!!
