ORIGINAL: DesideriScuri FR, So, Bain Capital, with Romney at the helm, helped at least one American company expand into a different country?!? The Horrors! He was hired to help them expand, he helped them expand, and then had the gall to accept payment for doing the work he was contracted to do?!? Well I hope you aint expecting your taxpayer funding back. It doesnt seem to worry some of you your taxes helped Romney make money. Here's the neat thing, Polite. He started helping RJ Reynolds in 1990. He then approached British American Tobacco in 1992. Then, he was given money under Clinton... quote:
In March 1993, the American government gave Bain & Co. a $3.9 million contract to advise Boris Yeltsin's administration on the privatization of the Russian economy, according records detailing the arrangement uncovered by The Huffington Post. So, Bain worked with some big tobacco companies to help them expand into the USSR, which was falling apart at the time. Then, Bain Capital was given money by the Federal Government (aka hired) to advise Yeltsin on how to privatize the Russian economy after the break up of the Soviet Union. The article mentions the smoking crisis in Russia, as if it's Romney's fault people are choosing to smoke. The article acknowledges that Romney's role in the tobacco stuff wasn't known, but he was the CEO, so it's all his fault. Let's not forget that smoking isn't illegal. It's a legal product. Romney and Bain helped at least one American tobacco company, and at least one British tobacco company expand their businesses of providing legal products. I will say it again, The Horrors!!
