You people are living in a strange fantasy world. Every poll I've seen including CNBC has Ryan as the winner, but if you prefer a nutjob that thinks everything they've done to this country is funny, then by all means go ahead and vote for him again.

If he can't handle a smirking Joe Biden

Except he did handle Joe Biden, Hillwilliam. That was a good debate. I thought Biden won by a little bit, but Ryan held his own, throughout. Nobody needs to make excuses for how carried himself. I saw last night that the insta-poll results showed it a Ryan win, within the margin of error.

We now have two debates, leaving two images. The President's empty suit, and Biden's smirk. I expect the President to be much better on Tuesday, but we shall see what we get.

We obviously watched 2 different debates.
I'll restate since you so graciously edited my comments.

If a guy can't handle a smirking debate opponent, what the FUCK do you think he would do if the chairman of the joint chiefs came into the office unnanounced and said "Mr President, 45 seconds ago, I got confirmation from NORAD of multiple launches from the Chinese mainland. The destination is unknown. Do you want someone that will say "I'll have to go home and pray about it"?

Its better to point to credible sources that most everyone can trust. I know that for myself I don't watch MSNBC, Fox News, or read the Huffington Post.

I read USA Today, BAL SUN, the NYT, The New Yorker, and the New York Review of Books.

The Union of Concerned Scientists noted that 93% of Fox New's coverage of climate change is either false or misleading, and it was banned from expanding into Canada which requires broadcasters not to engage in false and misleading news coverage.

When you point to Chris Mathews, you advance the POV that FOX News is not a news organization.

"Poll: Biden takes debate over Ryan, uncommitted voters say"

It`s still a bit early.

The more people get to see it(on-line and re-run) and digest it,fact checking and what not, that number will grow.

The comments I`m seeing are "if only the president had talked about those subjects" and the like.

It's great that Biden kicked Ryan's ass. I'd like to see President Obama do the same to Romney. Unfortunately, President Obama didn't appear to be that good at debate the first round. Unless that changes, I'm concerned that Romney will win. If he does, I dread what the Supreme Court will be like once he picks right-wing extremist justices. Unlike Presidents, there are no term limits for Supreme Court Justices. Healthcare and the Supreme Court are far too important to be in the hands of Republican extremists.

Doubtful. More likely that I just have a better eye for what we were looking at.

I wonder how many of those claiming the great victory for Biden even watched the thing, as opposed to the ones who merely regurgitate spin they liked on MSNBC, or that showed up from the Truth Team?

I'm hoping the Affordable Care Act will lead to single-payer. If my cancer comes back or I ever develop another chronic illness before retirement age, I don't want to have to choose between losing everything I own and dying just because I was born in the wrong country!!

Yes! Life springs forth from the government! They nurture us and raise us and keep us free from disease. How benevolent government is to care for us and give us everything we need or want.

I wonder though ... how is it that government can afford to do this? Do they have an endless supply of money or such a position in the world economy where their exports out-distance their imports? Do they just print worthless money (actually, they do but that's another thread)?

No, they take our money from us; usually by taking from people that are willing to work for it and giving it to those who are so bat-shit crazy that they no longer feel a need to provide for themself because they've swallowed the government cumload that I spouted in my first two paragraphs.

"Single payer" means that we are going to pay for the shit, one way or another. Is it better to have insurance companies competing for our business or to have them gouging their prices to a fixed rate that will bankrupt all of us? Self-sufficient people answer that question one way; demo .... ooooops ... feeders at the government teat answer it another.

Sooner or later, the tax-and-spend way of doing things is going to cause another civil war in this country. I pray the disease I already have takes me before I need to make a decision to take up arms against the government of a country I love.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

A whole lot of people, like most of the Right Wing of American politics, miss the idea. It actually is to establish Real competition in the insurance market instead of the nicely concealed collusion on prices we see currently among the health care providers. Like most insurance, what started out to be a shared risk/cost scheme to spread the real costs evenly among a large group to insulate each member from possibly devastating misfortune has been turned into a financial scam where the overhead administrating the business (Nice term for profiteering) has become almost a big as the actual outlay for real services. Sometimes more. As in the 'charities' where overhead eats the whole of the contributions and there is no benefit left for the charity's intended. What keeps being missed is that 'for profit' business has no stake in delivering health services, only in removing money from it's clients. In a truly competitive market, word of mouth reputation and independent researchers might punish the more abusive. What we have is light years from that.
Everyone says the government is too inefficient but if the private health care corporations had to open their real books to public scrutiny, there would be lynching parties marching the streets that night.

I think at this moment, despite the Right Wing Nutjobs claiming all sorts of crazy things ( birthers, et. al. ), Paul Ryan is contemplating suicide via autoerotic asphyxiation after getting beaten by both Honey-Boo-Boo and Joe Biden.

I mean, Ryan is such a loser that Biden couldn't keep from laughing at the bullshit he tried to spew... I *loved* it when Ryan showed his contempt for women and how HIS RELIGIOUS BELIEFS were going to be shoved down everyone's throat. Then an adult explained to Junior how the world works. You have YOUR RELIGION, and you leave everyone else the fuck alone.

And Ryan's insult to Biden's dead wife and child with the whole car crash anecdote? Right there is the douchebag-frat-boy in over his head.

I mean, it's not like no-one would have ever told coached him or anything. Is it possible that the RNC is just so inept that this is his performance AFTER coaching?

Where's that clip of Ryan whimpering again?

We agree with your timetable on Afghanistan, and our troops should come home. but the Surge troops should have stayed and got shot at cause there are others being shot at? WTF......So incomprehensible it can't be paraphrased

Ya know what he said DYB?

He said he agrees with some of what the current administration is doing and has done, but not all.

Not incomprehensible at all.

Pick a job....any job....you're going to differ with any boss/employer to some degree but if you truly know what that job is really about, and until you sit in that chair (as opposed to being an employee and convinced that "I could do that job waaaaay better than that idiot"), there's only so many right decisions or directions to go in.

And once you sit in that chair for more than a day or a week....it's amazing how many decisions one makes that parallel almost identically with the former head doood in charge :)

(Das da way it woiks....honest).

But you have to sit in that chair first.

I think Ryan's acceptance of the current administrations direction on a few items not only shows respect for the job/task at hand but as well....in deference, an understanding of what the intricacies of the job are and, how he and Romney may play the same ball game a smidge differently.

Don't know which one's right....but I do know that someone who doesn't sit in the seat of power that only wants to say what an asshat someone is...isn't someone who grasps the concept of leadership or the intricacies of the task at hand.

As for me, I'll happily take someone humble enough to say...."yeah...that was a pretty good decision...".

His answer and explanation made about as much sense as yours did. He was Ill prepared to answer any questions not only about Afghanistan policy but Syria and the rest of the Middle East.

Completely untelligible. Did he have a point? If so, what was it.
