Laxatives and cognitive ability. Ryan may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he's a genius compared to Palin (then again, a lobotomized gerbil is a genius compared to Palin).

I dunno about the cognitive difference, though: as plenty have been pointing out in here since that debate, for somebody who's supposed to be a bit of a smartarse, Ryan made a real tit of himself against Biden...
