Interesting that nearly everyone who took the poll thinks they are a super genius.

Yes, I had been expecting (and hoping for) a more balanced outcome, as that would tend to imply more coverage.

I think you are delusional. All you've demonstrated
from what I've seen is a disconnection from reality
and a penchant for stupid ideas that you don't even
attempt to sound reasonable.

Indeed, they are not.

The result, however, is as I expected it to be.

In fact this is a poll that I could have run, and that I may have contemplated in the past. But why run a poll if one already is certain of the results? So I did not.

I added three "no idea" options to the poll.

Anyway, I'm not surprised at the numbers, I'm surprised that none of the averages have posted.

I was asked to be in Mensa but when I went to their meetings I was bored to death. No one had a sense of humor.

I like my smarts with a side order of laughter.

Oh, and not taking yourself all that seriously regardless of IQ.

You mean around 100? I am probably the closest one to that. Anyway, I think that there are none: My model of the human mind predicts/explains that there are none if we are talking about genuine doms, subs and slaves. Studying the minds of the people here is the main reason I hang out here. (Though I have got to admit that I have got the posts of a lot of subs on Hide. As interesting as their minds are, and as much leeway as I am willing to allow, there is a limit.)

138 when tested years ago. No common sense, but not an Aspie.

I voted no idea/average. I think when I was a kid I tested fairly high, but...

I really don't put much weight in them after I took one as part of an interview. 169, that's high and I have issues with walking into lampposts...

My last one (ages ago admittedly) was after a 24 hour sleep deprivation exercise and was 168. I am clutzy enough people hesitate to give me sharp objects(wait....is that because of the clutziness or the fear or me going postal??) I know I trip and walk into shit all the time too. Who knows.........

ETA: Oh, I forgot to put dominant, rflmao!

I have no idea what my IQ is. I've never taken a test for it. Master seems to think I'm smarter than him which is sooooo not true. Sometimes I have to google things that he talks about because I have no clue!

Me, on the other hand, my head is just full of useless information like, a duck has more neck bones than the giraffe.

Maybe one of these days I should take a test. Not sure if I want to though lol.

Regular posters to forums are, generally, people who like to write. People who like to write or who have a love of words, generally are going to be the same people who like to read. I would think that people who read have a tendency to score higher on IQ tests so we're probably a self-selecting group simply due to the venue we utilize.

It's just a guess though ... could easily be a bunch of us are just lyin'. ::grins::

he explained how some of the things I take for granted as being common sense, instinctive ways for the mind to work are actually nothing of the sort.

The one test I took years ago was a 138.

As for the quoted, I feel that way on a daily basis. Common sense is less common than ever, at least in the world I live in.

And, I would bet the dumbest folks, in relation to common sense, would rate high on the IQ scales.

So, basically, I do not care if you are a genius, if you are an idiot.

You, Aswad, seem to have batted 1000 in the IQ and the common sense tests. Just enjoy it!

I tested 188 as a child and was said to have a genius personality but I'm probably just over the average today.

I failed maths four times before giving up, I'm more of a lateral thinker than a logical one, and being an Indigo have difficulties in social situations and forming relationships. However I find relating to autistic people easy. I'm keenly aware of synchronicity and find it very important in life.

long ago in another lifetime, before i had kids and knew 99% of the words to all the sesame street songs, i tested at 156. doesn't mean jack as far as i'm concerned, i can balance a checkbook and that's the extent of my math ability. might have scored better if i could have taken my shoes off.
