My rent is great for an apt WITH hookups, but nothing exciting without. I wish I knew all this before I agreed to take the apartment, paid first and last month and got it painted. I had initially told the landlord that I wanted quotes before I agreed to take it, but I was going out of town and fell for his Fear Of Loss tactic :( One licensed plumber, who clearly didn't want to do the job, quoted me $1,200 to hook the washer to the basement. Another, who is interested, quoted me $400-500 for labor and around $100 for parts. quote:
(you can't connect it to a sink drain or something similar as it will cause dirty wash water to come up in the sink, toilet, or bath tub.) As it's just me and I do small loads, I think I could live with this and then the installation would be in my budget. Would this work if I monitored the draining and ensured that the sink didn't overflow? I have no problem keeping the sink clear of dishes and babying the draining as needed. quote:
The dryer requires a dedicated 220 volt circuit. Ya, I learned this yesterday. Where were you 10/14???
