Reader, you're not going to win this argument. Yes, I mean you, anyone who is reading this right now and has a "side". Haven't we all seen this movie countless times? Semantic debates over the use of words, and we don't even have an ethical issue at stake here.

Y'all are arguing over the way a greeting was made. think about that.. now how much of your time is that really worth, other than you're enjoying arguing with someone who enjoys arguing with you?

C'mon now, if you're in the mood to take somebody out at the knees by using their own words against them (and that's typically my preferred mode), wouldn't you prefer a subject with substance? You know, an issue that you actually CARE about?

5 pages over the fact that someone used the term "fets" in a folksy manner, and implied that people on a kink site have fetishes.

Really?

I think I'll go watch some reruns of WKRP.

We don't need any more WALLS Les!

Great. First it was somebody who decided they would label others. Next, it was somebody who wanted to decide what was worthy of casual conversation. LOL.

After your comment about the lack of BDSM opportunities in London, I had a quick look. We've actually had a few posters here who have been involved in the London scene, so that is where I got My impression from. I found quite a few clubs, groups, etc. Just from google it didn't sound like London was deprived of the scene in any way. Is there a reason that your impression of kink opportunities in London is so very different from so many others who have posted here over the years?

Oh there are plenty of events, however they are invariably frequented by the same people with very few single women. We are also not the type of people who find the clubs and munches particularly interesting. We also have our own private scene which more than satisfies our desires. Again you are making more assumptions about complete strangers, not a very intelligent trait, particularly when you've been proven wrong every time.

At least you have been consistently economical with the truth.

Fare thee well fellow fet, you are not worthy of any further interaction.

Anywhere you go, mate....there will be a dearth of single women, even in the graveyards, they have moving parts in very high demand.

But there will be more at the events and munches than are in your home.  And you gotta go with what's on the cart.

Absolutely. A wonderful breath of fresh air and perfect analysis.

It has provided lots of amusement in this household.

LOL

Not ones who suit our discerning taste as we discovered over quite an extensive period of time, which kind of narrows down the field.

Work and Education commitments don't help much either and we are in no hurry, we have more than our fair share of adventures.

Fishing is the sport of patience.

Thanks, but I don't deserve praise over this.. lol.

I've been guilty of perpetuating this kind of thing far more often than I care to admit. It's just easy to criticize when I don't have any skin in the game. Truly.. I've done this too often.. and I was RIGHT DAMMIT

lol

I didn't assume anything about you. I just have the distinct belief that it's easier to find what you are looking for where BDSM and/or poly folks can be found.

It's just My personal taste that I like going where I can beat people, learn more about various topping techniques, and have the opportunity to mix with other people who enjoy the same. If nothing else, good ideas always come from watching other people's scenes.

Sorry you didn't feel I wasn't worth the interaction. I quite enjoyed it. The way you have come across in your posts here will allow folks to get a glimpse of your personality. Especially the part about how at least one person did not appreciate being called a fetishist, but you decided to continue to do so anyway.

It's always nice to interact with an intelligent mature mind particularly when one has been dealing with the train wrecks of emotional infantile self obsessed logic.

It boggles the mind that people who happen to have a single fetish don't realise that it doesn't make them a fetishist. The usage of the suffice "ist" implys that you are someone whose life is consumed by fetishes, simples!!! Hence I have not used the word in defining anyone in the thread, they are the ones who have been obsessed by the word. Although it would seem that at least one person here could well be diagnosed as a Fetishist. A right tongue twister. LOL

Just in case anyone else wondered - "Oh fuck, I want one of those for my cat... please let that be a real product".

Oh yes you can! Link to feline unicorn horn - guess what my kitteh is getting for crimbo!

Yes there is

FR - to the OP.

I'd encourage you to re-read the thread, and ask yourself "Is there any way someone could have got the false impression of me that I'm an asshat?"

This is a sincere suggestion, it's a test I do on my own posts on a regular basis - and, I hasten to add, one that leaves me feeling a little bit rueful sometimes.

Bear in mind that I've not asked you to look and see whether you could possibly have come over as more or less of an asshat than other posters - just focus on your own contribution.

If it turns out that you feel a little rueful yourself, I'm sure you'll want to come back and say something like "Yeah, I'm sorry - I reacted in a silly and immature way..." and you know, I reckon most people here will really respect you for that.

A lot of people would say that the ability to step up when you've crossed a line is a sign of strength and honour - Two things I've always reckoned any one who calls himself "master" ought to have.

What do ya think?

Well yes, hands up, you are correct and I am wrong, and no. It is not in common usage in the spoken form and this no doubt could be one of the reasons.

fetishized, fetishizes, fetishizer, fetishizers, fetishizingly and fetishizedly

Sounds like a family of shIts or shisters.

crazyml -> RE: Seeking the elusive unicorn. (10/25/2012 8:11:06 AM)

Oh, I won't argue that it's "nice" or "elegant" by any means.

What do I think?

Easy, I've read it all so many times that I know for sure I have nothing, other than the verb of fetish, to be rueful about, I got hung up on the idea of "To fetish". I stand by my words and the manner in which they reflected the emotional messages thrown at me.

Now, I am always open to reflections of others so please advise me on which post/s has led you to this little bit of fingering and the use of the word "asshat".

Also why you have not addressed your post to others since I can show you a multitude of comments which could be defined as coming from the brain of an asshat.

The very first reply being a perfect example. As if any intelligent person would think that I thought I was on Fetlife. They received a light-hearted response.

Then shortly after, the asshat who found non existent grammar errors, called us "shallow" because we were specific about OUR desires and lost his cool because we used the collarme choices to define our attitude to certain religions.

He was hoisted with his own petard.

Want more, there's plenty of them.

I might point out that there were interactions with a number of posters which started out negative and end in civil exchange. Not forgetting of course the supportive posts.

So like any twuu Master, i stand by my words. I have a suggestion to make too, that you ponder a little bit on what the four "xxxx" might stand for.

To the OP:

You know, semantics are semantics and constantly argued about.

None of that matters, really.

What actually matters is how you come across on a message board and how you deal with the replies you get.

I am hoping that you will read this thread later when you are in a calmer mood and realize how incredibly defensive and negative you have been.

People who say they don't find it productive to argue and yet, still do it, are hypocritical, no?

Since when have four letters indicated a sentence?
