It seems a fairly simple choice to me...
(Apologies to all of the Tennant fans.)

Hmm, there is no option for multiple responses... i like all of them...as long as he is played by Tom Baker.

If I'm honest, I thought Billie Piper worked a lot better as a foil to Eccleston than she did with Tennant. There were several episodes from the second reboot series where I'd have quite happily watched her get nobbled by monsters.

Fluffy, I'd not thought of that. I'll see if I can edit the poll...

Some of the actors were clearly more charismatic than others, though they all had their merits.

Fifteen years ago I would have said Tom Baker without hesitation. I started the series when he and Jon Pertwee commanded the role. I think both did wonderful jobs. For sheer range, though, through emotive expression and strong presence/dialogue, I do believe that now I would go with David Tennant. For his brief stint Christopher Eccleston also did a very good job - though he is right that if he stayed on, doing a good job, he would have been brutally typecast.

I don't have any one favourite episode, though I do enjoy Doomsday. Call it cliche, but the scene where they sense each other through the wall, unable to touch, is a sharp reminder of when I miss my girl the most, and cannot hold her.

I loved Christopher Eccleston - brooding and dark. He's pretty good at that.

as a kid, I loved Pertwee
Baker was good, hugely good, but Ecclestone and Tennant have my lusty thoughts now, oh to tag team those two would be freakin hot

I thought Baker and Pertwee were both great at engrossing the audience with their zany approach, but Eccleston made it cool like a zany James Bond. I didn't care much for the other Dr. Whos.

Tom Baker did not appear in The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. Elrond was played by Hugo Weaving of The Matrix fame.

Do you know the soulalloy?I read his entry on IMDb and there is no entry for LOTR, of any kind. He did portray Halvarth in the 2000 release of Dungeons and Dragons.

Nope as I said not sure, been donkeys since I've seen it, and whilst he has a very recognisable voice I'd have to watch it again.

He was an elf healer in the Dungeons and Dragons, seen him in quite a few things now

If he was ever to play a character in Lord of the Rings I'd have put him down for Tom Bombadil

If he still had those curls of his Dr.Who days, I would have made him a hobbit, but he's too dang tall!

I am afraid I am going to date myself. I started watch the series when I was a kid with the first doctor, and I have liked all of them
They all had something that made them memorable.

Tom baker was amazingly odd and good in " The Life and Loves of a She-Devil" (BBC..1986, not the horrendous movie version)

Christopher Ecclestone and David Tennant. Both decidedly yummy in different ways.
