Why arnt I voting Republican? Let me count the ways - My main concern is that I think theyre crazy and Im not sure how anyone could take these people or their "ideas" seriously. When all these stories came to light - the first thing that ran through my mind was: What the fuck? Anyways - here are my main five reasons - please feel free to add more to the stew pot of complete nonsense. The first two really get my goat - putting our own countries INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN TO DEATH. Shit - with politicians like this, we dont have to worry about foriegn terrorists. They just work for Uncle Sam with blessings from the GOP - WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS. 1. Giving "Rebellious Children" the Death Penalty. - According to Charlie Fuqua, the Republican candidate for the Arkansas House of Representatives, he supports instituting the death penalty for "rebellious children." For the reasoning and principals - please read the following article. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/08/charlie-fuqua-arkansas-candidate-death-penalty-rebellious-children_n_1948490.html 2. Giving the Death Penalty to women that have miscarriages. - Republican Georgia state Representative Bobby Franklin proposed a bill where if women were proven to have purposely caused a miscarriage, they would become a felon and be charged with Capital Murder - thus, may be given the sentence of death by lethal injection. To read more about this please read the following article. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/23/antiabortion-georgia-lawm_n_827340.html 3. The complete nonsense that Congressman Paul Broun (R-Ga.) stated recently: That evolution and the big bang theory are "lies straight from the pit of Hell." He also stated that the Earth is 9000 years old. - To be honest with you, I dont even know what to say. Ive heard people on Crystal Meth that have been up for five days make more sense than this. To learn more about what Congressman Broun thinks, please read the following: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/06/paul-broun-evolution-big-bang_n_1944808.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk2&pLid=216576 4. How could anyone forget the words of wisdom that flowed from U.S. Rep. Republican Todd Akin, (the GOP Senate nominee in Missouri) mouth a few months ago? " Women Can’t Get Pregnant From ‘Legitimate Rape’" And of course he flip-flopped after he said this - but we all know he really does think this. This is really too classic to NOT put in the full quote. "From what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. But let’s assume that maybe that didn’t work or something. I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be on the rapist and not attacking the child. "For more words of wisdom from Republican Rep. Akin, please read the following: http://www.truthdig.com/eartotheground/item/todd_akin_women_cant_get_pregnant_from_legitimate_rape_20120820/ 5. And just as ludicrous as the last four - Legislation in the Ohio House of Representatives (House Bill 252) requires written consent from the father of an unborn child in order to perform an abortion. LMAO - And what happens if the woman slept with 20 guys? Or it was just a one night stand and he was never to be seen again? Its just more ridiculous legislation that the tax payers are dishing out for. It makes ZERO sense.
