lilmissdefiant -> probably another stupid question but anyways.... (10/19/2012 12:03:37 AM)

I've heard that the affects of alcohol can make bruising worse, my question is does it make the healing process quicker or am I swimming in fantasy land again?

Alcohol works as a mild blood thinner, that's why you'll bruise easier. As for healing, I'm not sure it would speed anything up. Any time you're healing from a bleeding injury (really, a bruise is) any good doctor will tell you not to drink.

alcohol thins your blood.
so yes it makes bruising worse.
bruises are instances of blood spilling out under the skin.
at least that is what reader's digest for children told me.
your blood would need to clot to stop the bleeding.
so sorry i'm afraid that won't help you.

reader's digest for kids didn't lie to me.
happy times.
hope this better explains it.

So it wouldn't help quicken the healing process at all?

wnyThroatLover -> RE: probably another stupid question but anyways.... (10/19/2012 12:16:17 AM)

No, it would make it take longer

Failanex -> RE: probably another stupid question but anyways.... (10/19/2012 12:35:40 AM)

As a stone cold drinker of allll the awesomeness,. No. Your body is best when Mind, Body, and Soul are a leveled playing ground,. As the juice does thin the blood it would be logical to say that the viscosity of such blood in muscle thinner makes it more vulnerable to bruising or damage that can be reflected in the skin. While females are more prone to the "brusings" then males are in my opinion,. My personal opinion about healing such would be thermal. Or expanding or increasing the viscosity or circulation to the damaged area with non intrusive means in this case poisons such as alcohol. But this is also completely complicated by nutritional intake and motabalisms as well...

For alcohol helping heal wounds I give a -1,. While it does increase blood flow to damaged muscles by thinning it? I'm doubtful that any effects out way natural healing and am pretty sure it actually slows down the process. And this ones mouth sips.. so. That's his 2 cents.

As far as I know the only medical benefit of alcohol would be medical grade alcohol used to clean a wound. It won't help your bruises. What's your logic here? If you can explain what you are thinking it might help - you may just be misremembering something.

PurrPett -> RE: probably another stupid question but anyways.... (10/19/2012 5:11:23 AM)

Arnica and rescue remedy :-).
Both natural remedies taken orally or arnica can be rubbed onto the skin... Great healers for the body and bruising!!! xx

DNAHelicase -> RE: probably another stupid question but anyways.... (10/19/2012 7:55:50 AM)

FR

If you're looking for something to help heal bruises faster, try arnica. You can probably find it as a cream/lotion at most well-stocked drug stores, or barring that, try looking at natural remedy or health food stores.

Alcohol's healing properties pretty much extend to emotional pain only.

Of course, it doesn't "heal" at all so much as give those in denial a place to hide from the truth a bit longer - or a lot longer....

Btw, I carried out a c/p burglary of your signature line 'bout the skeeter, 'cause it made me chuckle. K? [8|]

If some dude told you getting drunk helps, he lied.

Generally, alcohol is a bad move in most BDSM events, however, Crown Royal is the sole exception.

(Copious amounts, ice only, never more than 18 fingers at a time....in one gulp).

Muchtado -> RE: probably another stupid question but anyways.... (10/19/2012 7:11:51 PM)

I promise to make this answer short. The answer is No, it makes it worse.

The only problem with the sig line is that male mosquitos don't suck blood. Only the females are blood suckers. Males live on plant juices.

Yep, old news from the gender war emails that do/did the rounds.

But me not being one to let minor factual details spoil some clever soul's ability to generate a chuckle through being waaaaay more creative than I can ever hope to be, well....., you know....

chatterbox24 -> RE: probably another stupid question but anyways.... (10/20/2012 10:34:18 AM)

excessive alcohol is not a healing aid, quite the opposite. ANy injury will be slower to heal due to the fact the blood can not clot as quickly.

littlewonder -> RE: probably another stupid question but anyways.... (10/20/2012 11:12:33 AM)

I'd say more like drowning in fantasyland.

kitkat105 -> RE: probably another stupid question but anyways.... (10/20/2012 11:25:37 AM)

The only thing to help bruising would be arnica gel, heparinoid (hirudoid) cream and maybe taking some multivitamins to assist your body in what it is lacking.

Alcohol does not medicate anything.

Alecta -> RE: probably another stupid question but anyways.... (10/20/2012 12:54:28 PM)

I always catch a cold or flu when I've been drinking lol
