I'm generally not a grammar cop, but given a few of tonight's top thread titles, I can't resist sharing this:

It's funny: I deliberately didn't use the word Nazi, because I agree with George Orwell that overuse drains political terms of their meaning. As he said, "The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies 'something not desirable.'"

I think this is what the OP is referring to. Apostrophes do not a plural make. Apostrophes will make a possessive of the noun, however...meaning 'belonging to'. For instance:

His hat was a Nazi's helmet. (Possessive)
He belonged to a group of Nazis. (Plural)

Fun to learn new stuff, huh?

I like that.

They should make one of these cartoons up somehow for there, their and they're, to, two and too, into and in to and myriad others.

I'm not the grammar police but I have to say when I see egregious errors....I simply can't continue reading....I just move on to the next.

It's like fingernails on a chalkboard for me.

Same goes with people who capture someone else's thoughts as their own, post them, blathering on and on without having done their own homework.
