Why now with the “wait till after the election” caveat? Just stalling my friend that’s all. Why push their economy to ruin…get close to their goal, if they don‘t already have a weapon…then back off with no gain?

They just need a few more months to become nuclear capable and are afraid of an attack when they are soooo close ….So time for fake negotiations…In my opinion anyway….we will see.

Butch

Yeah it would seem to be stalling since Iran seems so close, and it was playing games with the EU etc. for years. http://www.newenglishreview.org/blog_display.cfm/blog_id/42323

I`ll bet money tho, that Bibi Netanyahu gives more credit to our President for this than all the con-whiners combined.

Considering Netanyahu gave more props to our President for the killing of bin-laden........... than all the chicken-hawk-cons combined.

Yeah Bibi gave Obama kudos but I'm not sure Bibi would be thanking Obama for refusing to meet him when he was to speak at the UN in New York. Worse though happened when the US ambassador to the UN stayed for AmmaDinna's speech at the UN http://bigstory.ap.org/article/attack-irans-ahmadinejad-sparks-israel-walkout but walked out with Hillary during Bibi's time at the podium http://rt.com/usa/news/us-netanyahu-un-obama-238

"thanking Obama for refusing to meet him"

That`s Bibi`s bullshit story.

FYI....even Bibi doesn`t demand meetings with the POTUS.

Making a stink about it was childish.Bibi trying to game our election may backfire on him if his good buddy Mitt ,should lose.

FYI to the world......no one but American leaders control and dictate American foreign policy.

Owner, I was only pointing out that things aren't as fine between Bibi and Obama as you seemed to be suggesting. BTW I don't think Bibi openly criticised Obama for not meeting with him but if I'm wrong do you have a source for that?

The Iranians are also tight with North Korea, and we all know how well the administration's deal with them went.

We need a President who knows how to get things done, not just send out a conveniently timed press release.

What deal are you talking about? Are you fantasizing that the North Koreans developed and tested their weapons during the Obama Administration? If so check your dates their first two tests occured while W was the 'decider.'

romney cant even deal with Brits without fucking it up, what the hell makes you think hes gonna do better with Iran>> good god man!

Oh thanks Lucy, I didn't actually realize He was talking about Obama, given that Bush practically held the flashlight for the North Koreans during at least 6 years of his presidency.`
Thanks for clearing that up for me. goes to show, I'll never be able to work in the medical field. as much as I would like to help Romnesia sufferers, my real destiny, I think lies in the court room.

Show me where I ever suggested that?

Obama might not be a personal friend and former business partner like Mitt is....but Bibi still has respect for our President.

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/147771

My point was how little our cons acknowledge Obama`s successes...... That even Bibi thanked the man for getting bin-laden.

Ummm ... you do get that the fact that we're not talking about a minor negotiation process here right? I think a timetable stretching into a period of a few weeks is rather reasonable. But please, since you appear to believe a different process should occur. By all means tell us of other times when critical negotiations were thrown together in two weeks. I of course mean ones that produced favorable results.
Personally, I think the above position is reminiscent of Tag Romney

Is it...lol

See how they are backing off...stalling... Saying it is not true... People are so gullible. As I stated above I do hope I am wrong...but there is a mindset in the Arab world that says that the western perception can easily be manipulated. Iraq tried it...the Taliban in Afghanistan tried it...Libya tried it...Pakistan is trying it...It does not work and you think they would learn.

Sad but so more war is coming...the religious fanatics in the Arab world think their God will protect them and they will not back down until their countries are in ruins.

Where in my post did I say this? I said I hope they we do talk...why put words in my mouth I did not say?

They have agreed to talk.

Have not agreed to where and when.....

War and peace start with words......

These hopefully are the 1st words of peace.

Of course they aren`t going to strike a deal or even start talking till after the election.

Who would? Though our enemies.....the Iranians are not irrational.....any more than the soviets were.

Par fot the course with these guys, if they queered the deal by placing the election at a higher priority than national security.

"It’s not true that the United States and Iran have agreed to one-on-one talks or any meeting after the American elections."
-- National Security Council Spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a statement released by the White House.

Ooooopsie! Looks like the OP shot from his hip on this one just like Obama, Carney, Rice, and Clinton shot from their hip re the attack on our Consulate in Bengazi.

Gee kdsub, there is considereable following of this story in my professional circle, so I would have to say that it's strictly conjecture that "nothing" concrete is occuring. Some statements have been made and some media people have jumped the gun. That doesn't mean there is not headway being made.

kdsub -> RE: Iran agrees to one-on-one negotiations on nuke program (10/21/2012 9:02:38 AM)

Could be...lets hope so. But as usual it is a convoluted mess of contradictory messages. Why the hell can't people just say what they mean?

Butch
