So, Me and the fam are picking up and headed to Little Rock...any of you live there?

My job..well one of My jobs is there and it just makes more sense to be there. I am going to miss Memphis, because I love this city so much, but it seems Little Rock is the best place right now.

Aaaannnd, the place I have found has granite counter tops, 9 ft vaulted ceilings, ceramic tile in kitchen and it has a sun room. I'm excited about it. The hubs promised a new living room suite and stainless steel appliances for the kitchen ('cause I'm the Southern Betty Crocker). So very happy about the new spot.

While I live in Arkansas,I'm much more familar with Memphis and enjoy Memphis much more than Little Rock.L.R. doesn't have a Beale Street for one thing.But the River Market district does have a lot to offer.They even have a musicfest kind of like the Beale Street musicfest,just not as big.

Ok cool, that sounds good. I am actually going to be in Maumelle..so I'm not sure where anything is other than the main street..maumelle blvd lol. Thank God for GPS I guess

Oh My goodness You would mention Little Rock I lived there for several years.

I am not sure what side of town that your moving too but here is what I can say. If I had to move back there today (Thank God I won't Ex wife and All) North Little rock is nice, sort of like a run down 1950's town. You can find a nice area to live in.

Chenal Parkway is for the Alltel and well to do crowd, you have to have BIG BIG money to live out there, but if you are a programmer with Altell or you got cash flow, your gonna do well out there. Maumelle is again another white flight, alltel hot spot.

Stay AWAY from Roosevelt Rd! That's where the Crack Dealers, Gang Bangers and housing projects are. You can drive down the road and see houses that used to be nice, well to do places are boarded up and have the bangers hanging out on their stoops, conducting their business in the alley ways. Hell the Cops won't even go down there at night!

There is a great Pizza Place and Micro brewery in downtown little rock http://www.vinosbrewpub.com/ one of the truly nice places in the G_D forsaken town.

Oh, and if your living in Maumelle then I guess you will be having a nice income, I suggest that you take like a weekend and go to Hot Springs http://www.nps.gov/hosp/planyourvisit/traditional-baths.htm Trust me its WORTH IT!

Maumelle is to L.R. what Germantown is to Memphis ...except Maumelle is a little further out on I-40 from L.R. Conway isn't too much further west and they have ,and yes people it is called this...Toad Suck Daze. Hot Springs isn't too far south of there and if you plan on going during the horse racing season,you need to book your rooms in advance.Hot Springs has a great clean downtown with lots of restaurants and shops to visit besides the bath houses.

I love Hot Springs I have been there a few times. My folks own some houses on Lake Watchitaw (sp?) that they rent out. Maumelle seems so nice. I can't wait. I am sooo going to miss Memphis though :(

I've always been impressed with people that willingly give up their "home" and move to a new place, more so those that come here from a different country.

What a jolt.

I grew up moving to a different state every couple of years. My Dad was in the military, back when they liked to keep people moving about. I always felt sorry for the kids who were stuck in the same place K-12, locked into a pecking order they could never escape.

Lookie, I have always been that type of person. I will get bored very easily. Although I hate to leave My friends, and I love love love love this city..I am ready to go. Besides I have a better job there. And most of My subs are located there, weird huh? It's only two hours away so when I get home sick I can just drive back. Besides, when they have the Sinister parties here, I WILL BE coming home for the night. (See, I get from behind the computer sometimes lol) But seriously, those parties are fun.
