Hello All!

I may be just being a bit slow here, but, how does one change one's Collarme user name? I've seen a few folks here change theirs over the years, and since I mostly don't identify as a slave these days, and haven't lived at West Bay for years, it seems like I ought to go for an update.

I suppose I could just delete this account and re-register, but I'm not fond of losing access to years of posts and correspondence.

Any help much appreciated! [:)]

you're not allowed to change it, according to the help page.

You can't change it. You can change everything else about your profile, except your name.

Accept that you need to create a new account. Losing a history of 500 posts isn't a big deal, compared to the people who lose thousands and tens of thousands.

What I would suggest you do, is set up your signature to read something like "previously known as WestBaySlave". This can be done at the top of this page under the heading My Profile.

WestBay, you don't have to delete your current account to start another account. You can keep it active or hide it and still have access to it and use it. Like Yourdarkdesire states, you can if you wish, make reference to your prior nick on your new account. There isn't a way to combine the two other than that.

Theta, when I changed from nursygirl to ydd, my post count followed me. Was that because I had both account open and running at the same time?

Really? I have never heard of that. I will do some checking and see if I can find anything on that, but like I said, I have never heard of a way to do that.

Yet another reason to upgrade this ancient, decrepit forum software. Changing usernames is trivial with even reasonably current versions of forum software. Hopefully some of the new-found ad revenue will be used for just such a purpose.

The question already got answered. This is just a personal comment.

When you start the new name, could you put who you "used" to be in the sig line for a while? I get so lost when people switch and it's always good to be able to make the association.

Lol Kana! I was hopuny they would go back and add on my Pianogirl posts to my total! But since she was a bad girl and got banned forever from the site....that is probably not going to happen!
