Butbutbutbutbut I thought Obama was BAD for the oil business. Isn't that what we've been told by rair and balanced people?

"In 2011 for the first time since 1949, the US became a net exporter of refined petroleum products. Several studies this year project that by the end of this decade, the US will surpass both Russia and Saudi Arabia and will become the worlds largest producer of oil and liquid natural gas."

Yea, I mean the oil industry has never made as much profit as they have under Obama, production is up, oil leases are up...where is the bad part they keep preaching to the uninformed...

Number 1, the math is incorrect, number 2, even if it was correct....I'll jump up and down only when we no longer import oil, regardless of where we sit in the world of oil producers.

Status: offline 		This is bad news as far as I’m concerned...We need to forget Oil, which will run out in the US soon enough, and get going on alternative fuels. This temporary upswing in production will not last. This will just make people and politicians complacent until it is too late to stay ahead of diminishing oil energy. When the hell will we learn to plan for the future.

Some increase in energy production does not mean much in longer perspective. Besides, the new fracking technologies are so bad one should ask if they could continue at all or they need to be stopped.
