Looking for input (before I put it online).... "Room for rent". "Gigantor house, 4,700 sf, me and two cats, 3 bedrooms, 1 is my den/library/computer room, 65 inch flat screen in the living room (bigger than most people's garage...the room...not the TV), large room for you (23 x 12), 50 inch flat screen in there as well, double stacked humongous washer and dryer (could fit a {very} small Volkswagen in same), shower, jacuzzi tub, private makeup bar/mirror/lights (Dad always told me "build your house for a woman...easier to sell"), two sinks in the bath, huuuuuge kitchen..... Wanting a chic who cooks well (veg would be good)....wants to cook....no charge to live here....just cook and clean...I travel 1 week out of every 4....take care of me and my babies....". Any thoughts?

cl being what it is, I, personally, would be wary of putting something out there that was that explicit about your personal space. I think you will attract some insincere people. People have been robbed, etc. from posting on cl. It happens with tremendous frequency. Maybe I'm just paranoid....

personally, i'd put the description of what you're looking for first and the house features second. my version would read like this: ***************** seeking a female to cook (preferably vegetarian), clean and look after my cats in exchange for free room and board. i travel one week a month and need someone to help look after me and my two cats. the house is gigantic, 4700 square feet with three bedrooms. perks: -huge room with 50" flat screen t.v. -double-stacked washer and dryer -private bath w/ shower, jacuzzi tub and double sinks -vanity with mirror -huge kitchen ***************** not sure if i left anything out.

I luv chocolate. ...er...I mean I favor chocolat`s rewrite. OP -- Yours is clever and funny. That`d be good in a personal ad (or a cm profile). But with what you`re offering, you don`t need the funny. That`s an amazing deal. It sells itself. And the above comments re burglary should be heeded. You mention two huge TV`s and go on and on about how big the rooms are. Thieves will do the math. `Hmm...big TV`s. they cost money. lots more space...probably also occupied by stuff that cost money. Think I`ll have my gf call him to àpply`, get the address and a look around the place. And find out which weeks he`s away`

I like the ad...to me is it confident and informative. I cook well... that being said...I will offer screening services. I have to hire/fire people on a regular basis.

Imo, it needs a little further explanation.. are you looking for sex in exchange for free room n board? I have seen ads for the sex for a roof & food thing and I find them offensive (that someone would take advantage of desperate women like that).. and if readers percieve thats what you are doing your ad might get flagged as illegal.. So i would further explain the arrangements, ya know, if its a totally platonic arrangement or not.. the term "take care of me" can mean sexually in some translations.. (its in how people read it thru their eyes no matter how you meant it, kwim?) and I would use the term furbabies instead of just babies.. to me it sounds nicer.. and yeah, I am with everyone else.. If i was in yer area I would jump ya.. er,.. I mean jump on yer offer.. [:D] eta- if you dont want a smoker or other things (like 420) then you should specify that as well..

There's one male in this house already and he doesn't appeal to me at all (although he IS the best I've ever had!)....rather look at pretty things as opposed to another of me.
