Duskypearls -> What's your favorite, and least favorite, animal... (10/25/2012 11:31:51 PM)

...and why is it your favorite?

What are your best, and worst, animal experiences?

What animal do you fear the most, and why?

With what animal do you most resemble and/or identify?

Do you have a Spirit Animal (s), and if so, what is it?

If you could accommodate all of its needs, what animal (s) would you like to have?

If you are asking all these questions, you should at least start us off by answering them!

Fair enough.

...and why is it your favorite? Felines are my favorite. They are magical, mystical sensitives, who feel no shame in finding and enjoying what pleases them. They are comical, resourceful, refined, self-respecting, lightening fast and are usually an excellent judge of character. I have no least favorite animal, I love and admire them all.

What are your best, and worst, animal experiences? Best; ah, there are so many...psychic communication with some, saving the lives of, and bottle feeding, day old kittens. Worst; riding a horse that literally became possesed by an evil entity, and did everything in its power to try to kill me.

What animal do you fear the most, and why? None, I'm comfortable and friends with all.

With what animal do you most resemble and/or identify with? I think I physically resemble a cold-blooded horse...simple, hard working, a bit stout, dependable, sturdy. Internally, I identify most with felines and horses, due to their sensitivity.

Do you have a Spirit Animal (s), and if so, what is it? Heaven's, I have soooo many, too many to count, domestic, farm and wild. Particularly strong, as of late, has been Whale and Bison.

If you could accommodate all of its needs, what animal (s) would you like to have? Large, wild cats, wolves.

Favorite: probably exotic cats

Least favorite: dogs or mice

I haven't had any bad experiences with animals (except the mice thing mentioned below). I guess my best experience is with Master's cats accepting me and liking me right off the bat.

I don't fear any that I know of. I hate mice but only because of the diseases they carry and that they will pretty much anything at all which means in some homes there's just no way to avoid them. Plus my cat used to kill them and bring them to me while I was sleeping as a little "gift".

I don't resemble any animal but Master calls me mouse because I'm small, quiet, and qualities one thinks of as submissive. I even have a friend who calls me her mouse in her pocket because I'm the type that when I'm with her I'm not picky about where we go or what we are doing.

I don't believe in spirit animals.

I currently can't have animals in this apartment but when I get a new place, I will probably get another cat. I'm still undecided on that idea just because I love cats but hate cleaning up after them and I'm allergic to them. But I've always had at least one cat anywhere I have ever lived. My only concern is that I may not be around enough for them.

Favorite: Dogs

Best experience: I adopted a Lab from a shelter and had him for many years. He was my running buddy, hiking buddy, listen to me cry buddy. He was amazing! His name was Buddy.

Worst experience: I trained a Bull Terrier who was food aggressive...in the beginning, he nearly took my finger off. It turned out well, but it scared me.

Fear: I don't have fear of animals, but a HEALTHY respect.

I believe I resemble: a free spirited wild mustang. Did you ever see the movie Spirit? That is me. Spirit was wild and mistrusting until a special person came along who saw him for the horse he was.

Animal spirit: Mustang

I would love to have a horse or two. I'd also have a pack of canines, kinda like Cesar Milan.

AthenaSurrenders -> RE: What's your favorite, and least favorite, animal... (10/26/2012 12:42:08 PM)

I don't think I could chose a favourite animal since there's none I particularly relate to. I find most animals interesting to watch or learn about but I don't really feel the warm fuzzies that animal lovers do. If I had to pick, I do have a soft spot for bears since watching baby bears playing in a sanctuary.

Likewise, I don't have a least favourite for the same reasons. I know, so boring!

I'm not afraid of any, though I am a little wary of horses for some reason I've never been able to put my finger on. I mean, I wouldn't wanna get on the wrong side of some of the big/fierce ones and there's lots I wouldn't want to touch (mostly things with stingers) but I'm not actually frightened. Snakes, rats etc don't worry me.

I dunno that I resemble or identify with any animals. I guess some animal that lives in tight family groups and takes care of their own. I have been called 'Mama bear' on occasion because I am quite fierce in looking after those who fall within my circle.

I know nothing about spirit animals.

I don't think I'd have any animal. I'm just not that into the idea of having pets. Now if I could have the opportunity to go and study big cats or primates, or heck, even sea creatures, I'd love that.

BOY favorite animal- hard as both Dog are my first favorite, then would me Cats-LOL. As a Teen/young Adult was a professional Dog Show Handler as well as a Cat Show Handler. I bred Cocker Spaniels and St. Bernards. loved and also worked with Lhasa apso's and a Blue Tick. Best experience well that's easy: doing search and rescue with Blue (the blue Tick) that some one dumped at 5 mths old in Calif. because he howled too much. He was a natural and just loved him to death untill he was Stolen by . Don't fear most animals but still get nervous if just catch quick glimpse of snake and can't make id of if it's posionious. Have worked with all kind of exotic's- love working with wolfs- and have a few now left that are old. Told i am like a cat as will purr when the right person makes me very happy and can be aloof and as condescending as a cat to remind the guy whom i am with while a switch to remind him that he is not all that and they are NOT GOD Spirit animal is a wolf. they are the most misunderstood animal, but are the most devoted to family and are smart and loving- just like a dog but they see us as we are and observe before they commit them self's to any attack. Would love to finally own my own horse rather then ridding with friends once in a great while as i have always loved them.

Favourite is a cat. Because, yes they are lazy, selfish, self centred beings, but fuck they are wise.

Least favourite - Shetland Pony. Because one of the fuckers bit me when I was 6.

Best... This one's a little sad. But my brother was killed in a car accident when I was 21, and I had a cat at the time, Bazil, who seemed to "get" my grief in a way that no-one else did. He didn't make a fuss of me, but for weeks he was always in the same room as me, just within stroking distance (I shit you not, it was uncanny).

Worst... having to scrape Baz off the road outside my house.

I don't think there are any animals that I fear. Now if I was in a log cabin and woke to find a crazed grizzly at my door I'd doubtless shit my pants, but it would be the situation that frightened me not the bear.

I want to say cat, but that's more wishful thinking.

I resemble a collection of animals. Intellectually I'm an unruly Springer Spaniel - Smart, but over prone to fucking off after things that interest me.

Emotionally - probably cat. I know I'm flawed, but I'm very very reconciled with my flaws...

Cockwise, obviously Sperm Whale.

Nope.

Well... since I can't possibly imagine being able to accommodate all of the needs of a wild animal, I'd have to say I'm happy with my cats. But I can't have fewer than three of them at a time, and I know from personal experience that 11 is too many.

needlesandpins -> RE: What's your favorite, and least favorite, animal... (10/26/2012 1:35:35 PM)

my favorite will always be the horse, closely followed by dogs.

i've been lucky enough to have many great experiences; having the complete honour of owning my last stallion who gave me everything of himself, he's my horse of a life time who i miss every single day. helping my mares bring their foals into the world. owning my first dog and the loyalty he gave me. watching any of the animals do silly things. the moment someone else's horse with issues gives me the sign that it trusts me. the first time my robin ate from my hand, and the first time he came when i called him......the worst...losing any of them.

the dislike is harder. it depends on whether you are classing everything on the planet as an animal. if so it would have to be earwigs i think. everything else i can put up with.

my biggest fear by far is spiders. i'm sure if i was in the sight of something with a 'i can bite you and make you dead' mouth i'd be scared of that too.

i have always loved my Arabians for their intelligence, not suffering fools, hardiness, strength, loyalty and so on. i think i am also like that, but maybe i resemble the andalusian these days.

i believe in the spirit world so i know that my past over animals are around me at any one time.

at one time i had 17 pure and partbred arabians. now i only have the last young stallion i bred. next year he will be sold to someone else who can give him a good home. i have two dogs and i am greatful that i have them. however, if i had my way i'd love to have a rare colour Andalusian mare to start another breeding and production program.

Seagulls are my favorite. I like the way they are so darn cheeky and the way they integrate and use humans for their own means. I also admire the way they fly so far offshore to follow a fishing vessel.
I remember being out in a force 9 for 2 days with no sign of land on the horizon and this bloody seagull who we named 'Bill' just rode along on the big waves behind us. We are crashing around in this 28 ton vessel and he's just riding the waves like an expert surfer.

The most positive experiences I have had with animals has to of been with horses. I used to ride professionally and was BHS trained but then a smart Lusitano came into my life and took me into a new world of classical dressage and natural horsemanship. He turned my life around in so many ways.... I miss him.

I probably fear hyenas the most. I guess I have watched too many documentaries!

I would like to think I resemble a cat

My spirit animal is a leopard

I would only want a fully domesticated animal. I don't believe we should try and tame wild animals or keep wild animals in pens.
I would love to be in a position to own a horse again but the sort of life we lead makes that impossible.

kdsub -> RE: What's your favorite, and least favorite, animal... (10/26/2012 8:15:57 PM)

Dusky my favorite is a dog. They are loving…obedient…faithful and playful.

Least favorite: Cats…I’m sorry but I hate self centered crazy animals of any kind and cats are at the top of that list.

Best experience: Puppy love…lol damn that sounds fem

Worst: One romantic evening I came home late from work…let myself into my girlfriends apartment… stripping naked I decided to slip in my girlfriends bed for some late night fun. As I snuggled up to her backside I found out her cat, who hated me, had already had that idea. He quickly found a soft area to bury his claws and jaws…damn that hurt… I hate cats!!!

There are many animals I would fear in the wrong situation but none at just the thought.

Hmmm what animal do I resemble:...OK nothing fancy just a good old hound dog… I am dependable…loveable…lol…and faithful.

Not sure what a spirit animal is…but I would like to fly…lol so I guess a Hawk.

I lost my sweetheart of a Golden a few years back and cannot bring myself to get another animal… I could not take another loss like that.

My favorite animals are otters, cats, dogs and giraffes but there are so many more but I am keeping it to a minimum.....

I really like all animals but if I had to pick least favorite living things I would say some humans, cockroaches, scorpions and ants (but I do admire ants for a lot of their qualities but they give me the creeps).

Duck-billed platypus. It is so cute, but so venomous.

Best - Ceaser the smiling dog. It was a dog some friends of my parents had. He looked like he was smiling.

Worst - Having a horse lick me. Yuck!

Coelacanths. Because they are supposed to be extinct.

I have a cat that died that I miss. Fuzzy Britches was his name.

A climbing fish. A fish with hands that rock climbs. How cool is that?!

DesFIP -> RE: What's your favorite, and least favorite, animal... (10/27/2012 5:41:43 PM)

Favorite golden retrievers and quarter horses. I've never known one of either breed that holds a grudge.

Least favorite: snakes.

Least favorite encounter with a horse: my daughter's first one who argued with me about eating my new straw hat. During the discussion he stepped on my foot and it's never been the same. I should have let him have it.

Most favorite horse encounter: her second one who learned which section of my purse I kept peppermints in and made a serious effort at unzipping it to get to one. I've never laughed so much at a horse show. Closely rivaled by the time the first horse decided to eat the decorations at a horse show, he inhaled a corn stalk without chewing in the exact manner of a six year old boy with a long piece of spaghetti.

Least fav dog encounter. When my golden and my sister's lab who was spending time here while she was away decided to roll in something dead during a power outage. Not fun, trying to wash them with a bucket of cold water pulled off the well tank.

DaddySatyr -> RE: What's your favorite, and least favorite, animal... (10/27/2012 5:47:52 PM)

My favorite animal - by far - is a dog; a mutt, preferrably. I had a mini collie/shepherd mix that was the best animal I'd ever owned. He, literally, followed me home one day and was a faithful and loyal companion and protector.

My least favorite animal is man. If I need to explain that, clearly, we've grown up on different planets.

Peace and comfort,

Michael
