Obama 2008 – 2012

1.5M people crowded into the WASH DC Mall to see his inauguration, a record setting crowd for the nation’s capital.

In 2008 2.5M jobs were lost, sometimes at a clip of 750K in a month.

GDP shrank by 9%.

Housing, Credit, and Stock Markets all collapsed.

Foreclosures and evictions were rampant.

The Auto Industries of GM and Chrysler faced bankruptcy.

The grinding, unnecessary IRAQ war was ongoing. 100K Iraqis were dead along with 4K Americans.

Torture at Abu Ghraib tarnished the US’s reputation around the world.

The Onion Famously coined the following headline: Black Man Given the Worst Job in the Country

Obama came in into office seeking a post-partisan world and never found one. Republicans instead dedicated their efforts to make him a one-term President.

Passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. 3.5M new jobs were created from June 2009 onward.

Passed the Dodd Frank Wall St. Reform Act

Rescued the US Auto Industry

Transformed US Student Loan Industry saving $60B dollars. Upped Pell Grants with money saved.

Passed Patient Protection Affordable Care Act

Invested in Green Energy Development

Instituted New, higher fuel efficiency standards for US Autos

Passed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act

Appointed two women to the S. Court.

Ended US practice of institutionalized torture.

Killed OBL.

Did not embroil the nation in another war.

Not to "one-up", you Rich but I found one that is video evidence of something the lefties claim the right has a monopoly on; a flip-flop!

Back-peddle faster, Mr. President

Peace and comfort,

Michael

That's not evidence of a flip flop DS,as a matter of fact when he is re-elected in the face of that very quote, one can be sure the electorate knows full well the role an obstructionists Republican congress played in the weak recovery heretofore .

cloudboy -> RE: Obmama 2008 - 2012 (10/27/2012 5:20:45 AM)

"the Republican argument against the president’s re-election was actually pretty simple — pretty snappy. It went something like this: We left him a total mess. He hasn’t cleaned it up fast enough. So fire him and put us back in."

--Bill Clinton

------

One of the main reasons we ought to re-elect President Obama is that he is still committed to constructive cooperation. Look at his record. He appointed Republican secretaries of defense, the Army and transportation. He appointed a vice president who ran against him in 2008. And he trusted that vice president to oversee the successful end of the war in Iraq and the implementation of the recovery act.

--Bill Clinton

----

And every one of us.... (knows) we’re never going to be right all the time...

Unfortunately, the faction that now dominates the Republican Party doesn’t see it that way. They think government is always the enemy, they’re always right, and compromise is weakness. Just in the last couple of elections, they defeated two distinguished Republican senators because they dared to cooperate with Democrats on issues important to the future of the country, even national security.

--Bill Clinton

May his Presidency be looked back on fondly, and may the country always honor him for his service.

See now, there I went and fixed it for you Treasure....even improved it a bit,if I say so myself [:)]

somewhere bush is laughing at all of u blameing the brotha for his crap.....

We need to wake up and see that romney is all about cutting and gutting the goverment and adding to his own wealth in the form of bigger tax cuts and leave US footing the bills like when the infrastructure of the USA falls the rest of the way apart.... and below living wage jobs for the lower middle class & poor...

almost 12 years of bush tax cuts have laid waste to any job growth in the USA...

why?

Because the wealthy and big corporations have ABSOLUTELY NO INCENTIVE TO SPEND THE TAX CUT MONEY to create JOBS HERE!!! HELLO??

TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS HAVE GONE TO THE so-called "JOB CREATORS" TO NOT CREATE THE JOBS THE GOP PROMISED!! now u got the fine example of donald trump using his wealthy tax cut money not to create jobs but to try to sway an election with total bullshit....

And does anybody STILL wants to give these mega-wealthy "people" an even BIGGER tax cut to NOT create jobs with???? REALLY???

its time to replace tax cuts with tax credits....simply hire Americans and pay less taxes!! but romney is not going to do that....ever.

.u need to remember....... wealth is not what u can spend, its what u can accumulate...
....and thats all romney & his wealthy GOP really cares about.....every dollar that we let the wealthy play with ......is money that could be creating jobs in AMERICA with.

the GOP is the only political party on this planet that complains government doesnt work for the people.....and now wants to make darn sure it cant....ever.

DUMP THE GOP!!

(thats My 2 cents worth since I have to work offline the next 3-4 days.....will rejoin this thread when I get back....cheers!)

As well as the closure of the prison in Cuba (that he was going to close within 6 - 12 months of inauguration).

For the pro Republican Party folks here, can you please answer four questions:

(1) Did you regret voting for GWB?

(2) Did the damage GWB did to the USA affect your view of the Republican Party?

(3) How would you convince a swing voter that the errors of GWB would not be repeated by Romney?

(4) Could you articulate to a swing voter how Romney would reduce the US Deficit if elected?

[image]http://media.cmgdigital.com/shared/lt/lt_cache/thumbnail/400/img/photos/2012/10/08/bd/8d/chair-sized.jpg[/image]

Just feet from a "Mitt Romney for President" sign sat a chair, empty except for two watermelons.
Draped along the side of the chair was a rope tied into a noose with a sign set up to look like a teleprompter that read "Go back to Kenya."
The apparent reference to President Obama made some people passing by, including Republicans, uneasy.
"We shouldn't be threatening with a noose and a watermelon," said San Martin resident Ben Gomez. "I believe that's a little over the top. I like the chair and the teleprompter. I mean, they're just copying Clint Eastwood, so I can't blame them on that one. But the noose goes a little over the edge."
A photo of the display was posted on Facebook by Susan Shirley of Morgan Hill, who was upset and told us she wanted people to know it did not represent a community viewpoint.
A South Bay Democratic Party leader agreed, calling it the obvious work of an individual and not a campaign.
"I think it's a very silly prank. It's like someone thinks that Halloween is right around the corner, I guess," said Steve Preminger, chair of the Santa Clara County Democratic Party. "I think it's very disrespectful that someone should do that. I think there are racist overtones. To me it's the mark of a kind of bizarre person."
Property owner Blake la Beck declined to comment when he arrived home Monday.
He did acknowledge he made the display and said it was okay with him if a picture of it is online.
He also said the display speaks for itself.

Yeah, this was a Democratic stunt as well. [8|]

slvemike4u -> RE: Obmama 2008 - 2012 (10/27/2012 8:59:26 PM)

Probably another Democratic dirty trick designed to paint Romney as some sort of "other"[8|]
