Ya anal is about as "wrong" as blow jobs. Many people who do not identify as kinky at all engage in anal sex. It is a norm that just not everyone is into.

If you were to go to your local pastor or rabbi, and tell em you wished to engage in anal, oh the talking you would get. Do the same with "marital procreative" sex, and you get a whole different one. Right or wrong, the bulk of sociatal views stem from perceptions like this. Point is, no matter how "accepted" it is, people still hold it in a different category from good ole missionary. Actually, unless I'm mistaken (The lilone knows lots more about Judaism than I do so I'm working a bit from memory here), the local Rabbi won't give two shits. They don't really see sin the same way Christians do. He's likely to be much more concerned as to whether you are doing it with a gentile...

Your friendly neighborhood minister now, he's likely to care a lot (Unless he's a Catholic Priest and you're a Boy Scout-then you may have a a hot date on your hands :-p)

but that is the entire point ... it is not one or a few ... i have had a few partners in the past and there was only 1 of those who were not interested in anal. Now, i speculate that more men are interested in it than women so i will go so far as to say only 50% of the population are actually in to it. That, to me, is not a few. That, to me though ymmv, means that it has become normalized.
Now these stats are completely projected by my own experience but i have have had enough experience to know that anal is not considered taboo by the majority of people in my area.

In Judaism, a man may have sex with his wife at anytime and may do anything he wishes with her as long as it is not a waste of seed. So while you are allowed to have anal sex, you are not supposed to cum inside of her ass. But in marriage, sex is not only seen as for procreation, but also seen as an act that makes a relationship grow and keeps both desirable to each other which in the end leads to procreation.
