Nope.
Quite simple.... I didn't care about anything that didn't directly affect me personally so I didn't give a fig and took no notice of it at all. It wasn't even in my country - so why should I be bothered??

I took no more notice of it than squashing the next fly on my windscreen.

Status: offline 		I said I remembered the funeral,not Kenned...sheesh I was 4 years old
Only later was I able to connect the dots....funny thing is the memory gets muddled up with an aunts funeral that also occurred during my early years.
In reality these events happened a good year,year and a half separated.
I guess,in my mind,all funerals got pushed together,that are all adults crying...who knows

The point obviously is it is a memorable point to dwell on to see where we were in the lowest localization, and how much we have improved from there.


I can recall most things from the age of just under 3yo.
And, FYI, I was out of nappeis well before my 2nd birthday and I know exactly where I was on that day.

The point was, that particular event, no matter who else thinks it is/was important, has no significance for me at all and I don't even think about it; never have done and never will.
So to me, it is not a memorable point at all.

And yes,before you give me some pithy reply,whether or not you considered it so the assassination of an American President is/was an earth shattering news event.
The fact that yoi were able to stay willfully ignorant of it does not impress me in the least,as a matter of fact it is rather sad that you think ignorance of the news of the day is something to be lauded.

Really???

I don't even know what decade he was shot in let alone what year or month.
So I have no idea at all where I was or what I was doing at the time.
The only thing I do remember is that the news item was several days old before I heard about it.

Personally, as an outsider (ie; non-US), I see many things that Obama has done that would get my vote if I was there.
And from what I've seen of Romney's arguments on the UK news, many would be worse off and the numbers for his plans just don't add up.

But that's an outsiders PoV.



We all have different lenses. While I have  studied his Presidency fairly extensively, in school, I have about the same connection to that event as I do Lincoln's.
  But I do however understand Ron's parallel. Most Americans alive DO remember, rather precisely in fact.
  Thanks for offering your perspective on Romney's proposed policies.
