Could it possibly be he sees his state in ruin and knows now for the first time that the Federal Gov't and the people of the US are needed to help him repair it? That it is in these times you toss the bullshit aside cause people need your help?

Totally -- all that does not negate other under-the-table motives. 10-1 Christie likes Obama better than tea-party idiots and clearly he's not big of Romney.

I like Dowd,I think a high percentage of her pieces are spot on...but put that whole "I like her,I don't like her " thing aside for a moment.
Like cloudboy I liked the way she covered Sandusky and love the way she has,and continues to come back to,addressed the Catholic Church over it's reaction to the scandals involving priests.
For that alone, for an Irish Catholic woman to bluntly tell the Church where it has gone off the rails I will always have an appreciation for Dowd

The Sandusky case was an instance where she was also on site at the trial reporting first hand the events, hence why her views and observations were better than normal. I think she's good at seeing between the lines.

Well the head of the GOP is speaking about this issue...........

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, who normally reserves his derision for Democrats, went so far as to say of Christie: “He’s fat and a fool. Don’t listen to Governor Christie. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” But Limbaugh clinched the quote with his reasoning for being so vicious: “He makes fun of me all the time.”

and other cons as well....

A writer for the right-wing Daily Caller, Matt Lewis, hopped onto the anti-Christie bandwagon as well, in a post titled “What’s Chris Christie up to?” Lewis called Christie “a prop for Obama’s re-election” and speculated that there must be some kind of “Christie/Romney schis

The drudge report reports that Christie is going to campaign with Obama

Yea, that is the far right wing willing to show how willing they are to work together

In many ways the Republicans remind me of the Bolsheviks: strict party ideology, strict party unity, and intolerance for deviation.

Yachtie -> RE: Maureen Dowd -- Gem (11/1/2012 9:25:36 AM)

As one commenter here said, guess they shouldn't have thumbed their noses at the canned goods, blankets and other goods Romney collected. Where is MSNBC and their mockery now?

DomYngBlk -> RE: Maureen Dowd -- Gem (11/1/2012 9:43:22 AM)

Publicity stunt. If he wanted to spend the money the fucking asshole should have wrote a fucking check.

Regardless, I hope everything that was collected, bought or whatever made it to a local food bank if the RC couldn't use it.
Hungry people don't just occur after disasters. They're everywhere especially with the holidays coming up.

Remember when you see bikers outside of Wal Mart collecting toys. "Support your local Ghost Riders"

When the boy scouts bring that bag to your mail box. Fill it if you can.

Snag an angel off the Salvation Army angel tree.

I thought I read the RC was going to take it after all.

The RC in the first stages of any recovery program gives out food very close to the MRE's the military uses, they can be heated up simply by opening them, they are easy to transport. Unlike canned food, where people need a can opener???not as easy to find when everything is destroyed, nor is there any way to heat them safely...

You are going to find people complaining, but the people who listened to the Gov and left, or as he put it "got the hell out, are not the ones bitching. Hell there where people bitching on the news this morning that gas stations where not open and they could not get gas...Gee.....I wonder why??????

Yes it is very difficult to get gas, power and other needed things in to help, the roads and airports are down for the rescuers also

As every state disaster readiness programs states have an E/r food and water supply for at least 1 week. Of course no one thinks it will happen to them, but when it does and they are not prepared, the easiest thing to do is to blame the very people trying to help

I'm not sure if they are or not. My point was that this time of year, there are more in need.
Help em out of you can.
