The RC in the first stages of any recovery program gives out food very close to the MRE's the military uses, they can be heated up simply by opening them, they are easy to transport. Unlike canned food, where people need a can opener???not as easy to find when everything is destroyed, nor is there any way to heat them safely... You are going to find people complaining, but the people who listened to the Gov and left, or as he put it "got the hell out, are not the ones bitching. Hell there where people bitching on the news this morning that gas stations where not open and they could not get gas...Gee.....I wonder why?????? Yes it is very difficult to get gas, power and other needed things in to help, the roads and airports are down for the rescuers also As every state disaster readiness programs states have an E/r food and water supply for at least 1 week. Of course no one thinks it will happen to them, but when it does and they are not prepared, the easiest thing to do is to blame the very people trying to help
