I sent a 2 line message to a slave from the Philippines. I was surprised to hear back from her. We have IM'ed on yahoo 2 times.
How many red flags can there be? She's 30 years younger, she says "I love you", calls me Master, says she's poor and lives in a boarding house but works in sales, she has an old laptop and internet but no webcam and wants 3200 pesos ($76) to buy one. I told her I'd send her one, but she insists on buying it there to save time and she'd get a free mic and a warranty. I said I could mail it and she suggested Western Union. I said her operating system might be too old for a new cam, but she didn't seem to understand OS. She gave me her address, but I can't google it. Her profile says nothing, but has pics. She went to a internet cafe and we webcamed, but the pic was not clear though I think it was her and it was definitely a cafe. She says she was an old mans slave for 1 year until he died. I don't care about $76. I think I care more about some man controlling her and them laughing their asses off at another stupid American man.
Does anyone have any experience with women from there?

Whether there is a man involved or not, you are being played for money. I love you? Master? This is absolutely text-book stuff here.

If she has access to an internet cafe with a webcam, problem solved right?

You may not care about $76 but once you send her that money, it'll show not only that you *have* money but also that "she" can manipulate you into sending it to "her". You really think "she's" going to stop at just enough money for a new laptop? Next week the fridge will break, then "her" mom will need an operation, so on and so forth. And TBH even if it is a woman you're speaking to, a lot of these ladies are already slaves and not in the consensual way. You're being scammed dude, plain and simple.

$76 is cheap, I usually get asked for $500 to cover travel expenses. Even had one use a popular porn star's webcast as their own "live feed", so I would even question your cafe chat

I have had the somewhat dubious 'pleasure' in the past of conversing with 2 ladies from the Philipines.
I have also had the good fortune of chatting with a lady other there that was just interested in the western world and didn't ask for money at all.
This 'chat' has been ongoing on/off for over 6 years now and I have learned an awful lot from her.

They can buy webcams over there for peanuts - like $5 or less - so asking for $76 is just scam money.
Most of these girls are already slaves to men in the philipines and they use internet cafes and cam booths to solicit money from anyone they can.
They will promise the earth, be the slave at your feet etc - but only after they have gotten you to pay for their mothers medical expenses, their overdue rent for that month, they are desperate for food, etc. After that comes the cost of their passport and visa and paying someone to prepare their documents to leave the country. Even if you manage to get things this far, you then get the demand for the plane ticket. And when you check the prices you realise you've been charged 500% over the odds for everything and the price of the flight they quote you is more than it would cost for a first-class seat on a private jet.
And, of course, you can't do anything for them - you always have to send them the cash because they have do it.

Believe me, I chased one for over 4 years (and also another one in Senegal) and they each cost me well over £800 a shot (that's about US$1,200) before I realised I was being had over a barrel.
Nothing will ever come of it. Time to take off those rose-tinted glasses and open your eyes.
It's a scam, pure and simple.

If for any reason you think this is legit then you need a brain transplant. You don't need any experience with women there to know you are being scammed and this is the same old story being repeated in poor nations across the globe be it the Philippines or Africa.

Sure it could be a woman messaging with you, and she could be working for someone, or for herself, with the idea of getting your money. She's starting off with a smaller sum and hoping to have that be the pathway to more.

You should care about the $76, you'd be reinforcing the scammers whether they're male or female.

Have to agree with the masses reminding you that any money western union is a scam...to the point that western union now asks who & why you are sending money (especially out of the country) in an attempt to stop you from being scammed (because once its gone scam or no scam they can't help)
If you send $1 to every person that replies at least you will know for sure what you paid for!!!

I just wonder...why?? If you like Filipino or Asian women, why not pursue one who already lives in the US? I am sure based on the numbers, you could find a few here. If you are doing it because you feel sorry for people in 3rd world countries...whynot donate to a recognized charity? If you want to learn about life in the Philipinnes, why not google, read some books?
