This is for the swing state folks. No offense to people living in New York or California, but I want to get personal impressions of the campaign activities. I want a montage of what's happening across the country.

I live in Centennial, in Colorado. Arapahoe County, to be precise. The paper says that the county is split Dem/Rep right down the middle.

It doesn't strike me that way. I see at least five Romney signs in front yards to every Obama one. And the Romney campaign camped out on a two block stretch of Arapahoe Road, with workers waving signs along the way. There were two homemade ones, saying "Hire the Experts" and "Fire Obama". I wondered if the Fire Obama one might be more negative in tone than was wise, but at this stage of the campaign, I doubt there are many undecideds. I suppose it's just getting the faithful to cast votes, and that likely was adequate.

I live in a more settled area. I suspect that the younger, less settled area to the east is where Obama's support generally lies.

As a registered Democrat, I got mailbombed by the Obama campaign. With doorhangers for good measure. I wish that there was a magical switch somewhere that, after voting early, the switch clicks and no more campaign materials get sent. No phone calls or doorknockers, though.

Care to share your own stories, swing staters?

I think New Jersey is going to be a "swing" state, this time 'round.

For the last three weeks, I've been volunteering for the Romney/Ryan campaign and a good portion of the people I talk to are sounding like they're going to be voting republican.

My particular neighborhood, four years ago was chock full of Obama lawn and window signs. It was a sight to see. This time; not so much. You see, four years ago, our true unemployment rate was only about 10%. We're up near 25% these days. I don't believe government should be creating jobs but it's a promise that was made that hasn't come to fruition and the people here are pissed.

Over-all, as I travel around the state (and I'm on the road, all the time), I see a lot of support indications for the Romney/Ryan team.

Normally, New Jersey is a very democratic state but I don't think so, this time around. It's one of the reasons I don't put a whole lot of stock in the polls that are released. Sure, I could be wrong but what I'm seeing has this state going R by a fairly healthy margin and this is one of the states the Ds are counting as already in the bag.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

My argument, rather, is this: we’ve about reached the point where if Mr. Romney wins, it can only be because the polls have been biased against him. Almost all of the chance that Mr. Romney has in the FiveThirtyEight forecast, about 16 percent to win the Electoral College, reflects this possibility.

Republicans are reduced to hoping scientific polling is so inept that it completely missed a vast groundswell of support for Romney. It'd be funny if there weren't so many of those guys in elective office.

Steven asked a really simple favor. How about you two "read your own post" junkies shoot a couple CCs of STFU for once?
