Don't know what worse (sic) tragedy he united the city of NY under.

He was the whiney bitch that ineffectually cried for NYC, didn't do much else in the way of concrete stuff.

And the rest is also asswipe:

Two thoughts:

(a) It would be interesting to hear Giuliani's specific thoughts for ways that FEMA might improve. Especially in the tricky world of disaster response, there's always room for helpful suggestions. Campaign bluster, on the other, isn't gonna get anyone's lights back on any faster.

(b) Slate has an interesting piece on how Giuliani's been serving as an attack dog for Romney.

Ja, he's the rightwing Adlai Stevenson.

With all due respect to Hizzoner, I wonder how much of that coming together was due specifically to Giuliani and how much reflected the tendency of people to unite in times of crisis and tragedy.

Obama's hate for Guilliani is the same as the hate that the pimply boy feels for the prom queen who turns him down for a dance.

I wasn't aware that the President hated Giuliani, and I'm striking out in finding examples of his voicing this hatred. What's your basis for saying that Obama hates the ex-mayor?

Given that Obama achieved what Giuliani couldn't (residency at 1600 Penn), I'm not sure who's the pimply boy in your analogy.

The same Rudi Guilliani that united this city in its time of worse tragedy; the same Guilliani that could have stayed in office an extra year (by public demand) but chose to leave as was his mission; based upon term limits; the same Guilliani who reduced crime to almost nothing under his watch compared to the previous three administrations; the same Guilliani who finally cleaned up Times Square and the same Guilliani whose endorsement was courted (heavily ) by a certain, almost un-known senator from Illinois who needed some political largesse, at the time.

Obama's hate for Guilliani is the same as the hate that the pimply boy feels for the prom queen who turns him down for a dance. I just didn't realize his zombie-like PPL followers were as hateful.

Obama is a small man but he will fall a long way. Pity the fool.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Bullshit DS,that piece of shit tried to get his term extended, and used the tragedy of 9/11 to shamelessly do it...but he was rebuffed by Albany and by the City Council...who figuratively said a collective "not so fast pal"
You are mistaken here or,and I'm going with this one, full of shit and spreading it all around(ie: you are flat out lying)
I still consider myself a citizen of that great city, and more to the point I was an actual(living there) citizen back than.
He was the one that floated the idea,he was the one who tried to paint a picture of indispensability(last I looked the city is still there and still great) and he was the one told to get to packing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani slammed FEMA and President Barack Obama on Monday over the response to super storm Sandy-inflicted damages, saying the emergency agency is failing as badly to as it did during Katrina.

“The president getting all this credit so early, maybe the first day or two he was paying attention, but the minute he got his credit, the minute he got his pat on his back, we had the same situation as we had in Benghazi,” Giuliani said. “He loses focus. He goes back to being campaigner-in-chief rather than commander-in-chief.”

Obama been campaigning since he got elected in '08. I think that's what he likes to do best.

Somebody from the GOP was bound to sooner or later. And Chris Christie certainly couldn't since he's busy DOING HIS JOB IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PRESIDENT HE PRAISED SO HIGHLY FOR GETTING THE JOB DONE.
Pity they couldn't find any RELEVANT republican and make the complaint sound somewhat plausible. What's Rudy doing these days, besides running the BINGO at St Alphonso's?

I just spoke with a friend who works with NY's Health Department - Infection Control. FEMA is there.

slvemike4u -> RE: Guilliani slams FEMA and Obama (11/5/2012 4:46:51 PM)

Of course they are there.....Bloomberg declined to host the President,he didn't tell the President that the city didn't need Federal help.
I have a friend who lives in Howard Beach Queens, for those unfamiliar with NY that is right across Jamaica Bay from Breezy Point where all those houses burned down,he now has an indoor swimming pool where his basement used to be.I was talking to him Thursday, and he told me they had already filled out the FEMA forms for relief money.

Hey when you get a chance, you might want explain to Mitt that the President has a whole staff with him on a.thing called Air Force One.
My guess is that if he has all the tools to run the country during a thermonuclear war, he can probably do his part of the management of the ongoing crisis without missing any
opportunities to help.
Perhaps we should be concerned about the fact the clown running against him thinks you can't.

BINGO dc
Guilliani had lousy numbers on Sept 10,2001...next thing you know he is America's Mayor after the tragedies .
What did he do save locate the crisis center at the cities most likely target ?

Lucylastic -> RE: Guilliani slams FEMA and Obama (11/5/2012 5:28:39 PM)

You are a leftie???
BTW can you tellme why Christie refused to appear with Romney on sunday night???

BOSTON -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who was effusive in his praise of President Barack Obama when the two leaders toured damage from Hurricane Sandy last week, turned down a request by Mitt Romney to appear with him at a rally on Sunday night in Pennsylvania, The Huffington Post has learned.

Christie's decision will only add to questions among Republicans about what the governor -- who is up for reelection a year from now -- is thinking, and why he went out of his way to heap praise on the president, and then refused to appear with Romney.

The Romney rally was held at a farm in Morrisville, Pa., not more than 20 minutes from Trenton, the New Jersey capital. The physical proximity of the event to New Jersey only added to questions in the Romney campaign about why Christie chose not to come.

"You can't tell me he couldn't have gone over there for a night rally," a Romney campaign source told HuffPost.

DarkSteven -> RE: Guilliani slams FEMA and Obama (11/5/2012 5:31:40 PM)

Giuliani's statement is inexplicable. Obama's FEMA seems to be doing a creditable job and Christie has already lauded it. Giuliani is simply reminding people of what happened the last time a Republican President was in charge of FEMA. Plus, it takes away the focus from the economy, which is Obama's weakest point.

tazzygirl -> RE: Guilliani slams FEMA and Obama (11/5/2012 5:33:29 PM)

Wow... how crass of Romney. Im sorry, Lucy... but it seems obvious to me. If I were Christie... there wouldnt be a chance in hell of me leaving my state in its condition to go appear at a rally anywhere. My respect for him keeps going up.

20 minutes away? An election coming up in days? Not like the next 4 years aren't going to be important too. I think it stinks.

slvemike4u -> RE: Guilliani slams FEMA and Obama (11/5/2012 5:39:10 PM)

How would him (Christie) taking even 5 minutes out of his day or evening, while Jersey tries to recover, have done him any good ?
Particularly for politics,he's not stupid,he heard all the praise he got for his "if you think I give a damm about Presidential politics ,you don't know me" declaration.
Why screw that all up by appearing on a stage,no matter how close,to play politics ?
