One of my secretaries asked me last week who I was voting for and....I went through my long diatribe about the electoral college, the fallacy of voting, etc....and then, this weekend I thought (after 8 long years)...."this one is important....if I'm even remotely wrong....I better take a stand".

And so, on Sunday I dug through my trash at my desk, found my voting thingamjig and voted. Hesitantly, but in fact.

I still think it was a waste of a stamp but....this election is without question, the single most important one in my lifetime, yours and the futures.

I figured it'd be better to be wrong than arrogant.

Voted at about five this evening. Lots of folks and some lines, but fortunately not for the end of the alphabet. Saw one neighbor. All went pretty quickly.

We get a choice of paper or electronic ballot. I went with paper. Clerk said, "Smart man."

Minor bit of weirdness: Some dude was sitting in the room with the booths, yakking on his phone. Not sure if he was a voter or a volunteer.

Of course, voting in D.C. is largely a ritual (even McGovern and Mondale scored our whopping three electoral votes), but ritual is important, so I do it.

When I left for work this morning I drove by my neighborhoods polling station at 7am. The polls had been open for an hour and there was no line. I was tempted to stop and vote, but I was running late.

I walked into the polls to vote this evening at 5:30pm. There was no line. I walked in and was the only person in the building except for the folks running the joint. It took less than 5 minutes for them to find me on the voter rolls and for me to fill out my ballot and drop it in the box. On the way out I passed a neighbor who will be voting for Mitt and had a chat with him for a few minutes before going on home.

I live in a VERY liberal part of the city, and there doesn't seem to be any real voter enthusiasm from the libs in my part of town.

85 minutes until the polls close in the swing state of Colorado. I'm one of those people that is on-the-fence. Always have been and so each election, I agonize over my ballot. The people to the far left have their minds "made-up" long before ballots are mailed, as do the far right folk. They ALL have it easy.

One ballot issue here is easy - Leagalize MJ, restrict its distribution and TAX the fuck out of it. "Safer than alcohol" is a major theme for those in favor. We've had medical MJ for a few years and it is so damned abused. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

down to 75 minutes..... I guess I should take my ballot down to polling place and claim rights as last voter as I drop it in ballot box at 6:59 local time. LOL!

I voted on the way in to work. Moved right through the line, and was at work 10 minutes early.

I was wearing a Jerry Garcia tie with a US flag theme today, and all the black voters in the line were scowling at me, including the older gentleman right in front of me who couldn't even return a "good morning," as I took my place behind him. Maybe they were there for revenge, instead of love of country. Both the pollworker who checked me in, and the one who put my ballot in the box, complimented me on it though.

It's about time to go turn on the TV. I haven't had a bit of news all day.

FR,

Voted at 12:30 today. 20 people there. 10 were poll workers. One person ahead of me in my precinct. Took me longer to actually complete my ballot than it did getting to the machine.

Better late than never. I voted at the Firehouse before catching a 7:30am Ferry.
There is never any wait. in the primary this year there was a total of 27 votes.
No idea how many. But turnout was so high, there could have been as many as 50.

Well after so many years of not voting...some friends got me to register to vote. So today I went out to vote, funny thing was the place I was suppose to go was not open. It was a residence and it looked like no one had lived there for some time, later I found out that no had for about 2 years. So I drove to another address, only to find the same thing, nothing. The third place was closed too but some one there gave me two address to try, the first place was a bogus address. By now it was near noon and I wanted my lunch, so I started to drive back to my house and found a polling station that was not even listed. I stopped, there were two polling stations, the first one wanted nothing to do with me and directed me to the second poll across the room. There I was told that that station was for those who lived on the other side of my town...okay for some reason that made sense. The staff also told me I could vote if I filled out a form...however they moved the clip board with the forms as far away from me as a possible and went into a Spainish speaking only mode. I soon realized this was not working so I left and went home for lunch. As I was eating I reflected on the morning events and concluded how the simple act of voting has become a bureaucratic mess and a waste of my time, which is one of the reason I don't vote.
