Isn't this even bigger than electing him in the first place ?
I mean this means the racists(and I'm not saying that all who opposed him were racists) can't say"well we elected a black man,and look what happened....had to throw him out after 4 years"
This isn't,and nothing can ever again be that, the first time....but this means that not only did America send a black man to the White House...but they asked him to stay
Another great night for my country

Yes. The American people have decisively rejected the politics of race. Congratulations!

The GOP has some serious thinking to do. Obama, on the back of a sluggish economy, slow jobs growth and a difficult fiscal deficit, was vulnerable. Romney surprised many with the strength of his campaign, and almost snatched victory. But their failure to seal their victory under conditions as favourable as a challenger might hope for poses serious profound questions for the GOP brand. The biggest losers here are the far Right who forced Romney away from the centre, costing him the White House.

Unfortunately for the GOP, I have no confidence that they will be asking the correct questions of themselves.

Ohio has a recount if its less than 0.25%. Time will tell. Without Ohio, it sits at 256 for Obama.

Yes. The American people has decisively rejected the politics of race. Congratulations!

So it's not just me that see's this...and this didn't occur to me till after the math told me it was over. This is bigger than the first time because of the implications...a re-election is a validation of a job done.
Of course I'm not saying that race,as an issue,is forever dead in my country,no more so than his election ended it....but one more step...and a mighty big one at that.

Yup, you're correct. This victory has taken the potency out of the race card forever at a national level. That's a huge step forwards.

The HuffPo has Obama winning Ohio by 2.3%. I'd rather cite the NYTimes, but they have been lagging all night and are glitching at the moment.

Well, Florida and Virginia are narrowly leading Obama, too, and Colorado more heavily. So barring an act of God, he'll win one way or another.

Apparently not correct. Romney is not conceding yet, according to both FNC and NBC.

Romney almost has to at least put up a show of contesting Ohio after all his bluster about him being sure he'd win Ohio.
