True, America is not officially a racist country, but there are an awful lot of racists crawling out of the woodwork every time Teh Kenyan gets a bit of press coverage. Mercifully they lost the election tonight, which puts their uber-purist Gottedamerung off for another four years. Sad to say, the only way to get rid of racists is the same way one gets rid of cockroaches: you have to break the breeding cycle. [sm=couch.gif]

Not all Americans are racist, but racism is definitely a problem in this country. Just because a black man was re-elected doesn't negate that fact. Nah Punisher,that sounded just about right The problem with FDD is that he doesn't realize how the way he said it just came out real shitty. What he was actually saying is now that this is done he never wants to hear about racism again...whether or not it occurs [:)]

race is not a dead issue anywhere in this country, even in so-called progressive and diverse areas. my family is southern, i'm well aware of racial attitudes of some people down there. yes, this election is a step in the right direction, but it's not going to automatically change race relations. that will take people disposing of their pre-conceived, often ignorant notions of what other races are like and expanding their worldviews. anything less is not enough.

FDD, Them claiming "rich white men" run the entire show is as blind as your claim that racism is now off the table forever. I believe the cry of it is at times used at times it should not be.. but there is no doubt that the cancer is still there.

Technically, all you can claim is that less than 50% of America...or Americans...or at least those who voted...are racist. I happen to think it is a LOT less than 50%. But it is not 0% And what remains...is still a reasonable thing to be concerned about. = = = So...if less than 50% of Americans are racists, that means racists are a minority group. Does that mean that...they can now hate themselves too?

I can't wait until we're a nation where multi-racial trans-gendered people comprise the vast majority so that we can argue and discriminate based on who is more mixed and who needed more hormone therapy.

FDD, I wish that were the case. This DID show that racists are still a minority in the US, but they're a vocal one and one that DOES exist. Coincidentally, I just got a comment on one of my Fet pics last night. The pic shows me with my arms around my Caucasian sub and a black friend, and the comment was "you like that dark meat I see".

I figure that we're all bigoted for the most part and it just manifests differently and to varying degrees...sometimes in an opposing manner and other times in a over-compensating inclusive way.
