Watch Grover Norquist come up with a GOP promise negating it by 2016.

He could be the "Anchor Baby" candidate.

Perhaps you could tell us just what an "anchor baby" is?

The Republican definition of "Anchor baby"
A child born to non citizen immigrants who becomes a citizen due to his or her place of birth.
This baby can in some cases "Anchor" the parents to US soil

Surely you have the mental wherewithal to look that up.
Or maybe you dont.[:D]

I am aware of much of the misconception of the term "anchor baby" but I am unaware of how having a child in the u.s. gives the parent any rights to stay here. However when the child is 21, the child may if financially capable, sponsor the parent's immigration.
So when I see the term used here I am curious as to whether the poster actually knows what the term means.

Ja, Huntie, I know; and so long as there is no missles in cuba, they have nothing we want other than cigars.  let's face it we have Guantanamo, slavery is done so we dont have that excuse, hoovers dead and the mafia is real, we dont have that excuse, the folks are so poor that exploitation of cuba by american business is (other than cigars) unprofitable, most of the reasons they were our first fave bananna republic to imperialize are gone......

I doubt Castro will be alive in 2016, so even if there are still john birchers we wouldnt fly that fucking flag, would we?

The older I get the less I am surprised by anything?

Did we sign that pact with cuba or the USSR?

Last I heard, you cannot deport an American citizen without cause. And out society cannot tolerate ripping a family apart.

Wasn`t Marko caught fibbing about his family history, in an effort to pander to America`s commie-hate`n/China loving conservatives?

The Latin people I speak with in the United States (who are of central American or Mexican backgrounds) think little of the Cuban criollo Rubio, even the ones favoring the GOP.

They say he is a loaf of white bread anyway, slice him and you will see who and what he represents.

Which is a pity.
Last I heard, you can deport a British citizen to America for having a beard...

Would you like me to pull up your post where you explane the concep of "anchor baby" and how it does not give the non citizen parent any rights to residency?
INS and not the american people determine who is deported.

Cuban-Americans are shrinking as a population and as someone else pointed out, once Castro dies, Cuba will be a dead issue. Cubans represent only a small part of the Hispanic vote, and I agree that other major constituents of the Hispanic vote have completely different agendas than Cuban-Americans. They can raise money for this guy, but ya know, good luck with that.....

It doesnt give the parents any "rights".. not legally.

Also, young cuban-americans are assimilating. Many more voted for Obama. I can't imagine they wish to go back to Cuba. The nostalgia of their grandparents is waning.
