Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct place to do this, so forgive me if I'm in the wrong forum.

I just joined yesterday, was enjoying some correspondence with some great people from the site, until I got bombarded with all these "I just got a mass message about you warning people that you are a FAKE/A MAN HIDING BEHIND PHOTOS/ etc. etc. But I can help you! You should meet me on Skype/MSN/Yahoo and turn on your webcam and prove to me that you are real!" messages (apparently, all from different "women")....

I am NOT fake and have no clue why someone would assume that. I also didn't receive anything from an actual admin, site owner or anyone "official"--just these random "concerned members" who seem to be strangely involved with trying to "help me"....

I refused to do "webcam sessions" with any of these people, as this is extremely fishy (and they replied with "So you ARE a fake!" and "I am going to report you and post all of our messages for the world to see!", "Then you ARE a man!" etc. etc..

So, is this just a scam to try and get newbies to share webcam sessions and sexy pix for free?? Anyone have similar experiences like this?

Thanks.

Welcome Lune,

Yes, it is a scam. Ignore, block, delete. If you got anything from the site itself, it would show up in gold letters in your inbox.

Yeah, its common around here, there is a thread exactly like this every other day.   Show me your tits, show me your pussy, show me your ass..............

I don't know why, but I rarely have any peeping tom women want me to show my very hansome junk on the webcam to prove I ain't fake.

They are looking for a free show honey.  Fuck em (unless you wanna do one for me).

Hahah, thank you both for the input! Thought it was fishy (I mean, if there were real reports, I would assume that an actual SITE ADMIN would speak to me??), but just wanted to make sure.

Lunegoddess, if you reply with "Sure! I'm more than happy to get on cam... but I've heard the same thing about you! I've been hearing you're fake as well. If you get on cam first, I'll be more than happy to get on Cam as well!"

That normally chases them off.

Edit -- Oh! And how rude of me! Welcome to CollarMe. Most of the people on this site (As I'm sure you're figuring out) are a complete waste of air and space. Take time and caution in making any decisions. I can already see that you have a good head on your shoulders so that will put you leaps and bounds above the masses.

Best of luck!

Thanks Nine! It's been a blast so far (other than the scammers, that is ;)).

BoundSlave: Thanks for the suggestion--will try that!

Oh, if the site admins had the ass at you over any little thing, you would know about it.

Most profiles like yours ARE fake.

Take a pic with a hand written sign showing your screen name. Sane people will then give it a 60% bet you are real.

Damn, a handwritten sign wouldn't even get me a 100%? Is it even worth the trouble? ;)

I have a hand written sign. Unfortunately my hand writing is so bad that in high school I was given a special pass to use a computer in class because the teachers couldn't read my handwriting. That, coupled with my using a sharpie for mine STILL leads to "You're FAKE! You PHOTOSHOPPED that pic!!!" Mind, you this was when my profile said I'm OWNED, COLLARED and ENGAGED... but that's hard to read when you're thinking with a head that doesn't have a brain.

Ya, and truth be told, I could photoshop in a sign within moments.

I like the webcam idea best...........IF it matters.

Lune, welcome.

Simply: YES IT IS

It is those ppl the "Block Sender" button was invented for

at best with the very first message they send you
never ever send them replies - not worth it

Yup, it's a bunch of guys trying to get you to show your girly bits on a camera. Even the claim that they received an email saying you were fake was fake.

Welcome to the forums!

Men folk often out number women folk 6-50 one depending what site you are on. Some men folk get bored and create a variety of alter ego nonsense - if its a screaming lesbian/bisexual profile, often with model pictures too good to be true, you can check via tineye and goggle reverse image search. Hoping no doubt you will strip naked and oil yourself up.

If it was up to me every website everywhere would have the user verify themselves in private.

Scammers are more easily spotted they usually have some sob story, ask for number, profer some mental phone numbers coasting 50 bucks a second

As for me i wont talk to someone in-depth anywhere unless i am satisfied they are who and what they say.

Still it does leave a lot of nice genuine peeps

Yeah, google reverse image search IS extremely good. I'm sure those nice folk at DeviantART would agree with me

Welcome Lune!

Welcome to Collarme.

Scammers have no honor or integrity. They are cowardly people who have to lie in order to get a peek.

I on the other hand will just come right out and ask... could you show me your tits please? I'll understand if you don't want to but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.

By the way, today (11-13) is my birthday (seriously, no lie!), if that provides you with an extra motivation.

(I think I just got an idea for a new thread.)
