Hey everyone, just wanted to start a little talk about something.

I have NO experience in this sort of thing, and stumbled across this sight while seeking to learn a bit more about it. What I am looking to find here, I suppose, are Dommes who are interested into showing a complete newb what submission really means. I am very honest in that I know nothing about the lifestyle, and just sort of want to get to know it better, rather than making judgments from what I see on the outside.

Are any of you ladies interested in such things (not a personal request!)? Have you ever done something similar? How did it go (stories?)?

I have taken completely new submissives both as a Dominant and as a Mentor. In each case, each was someone I had met coincedentally that felt comfortable sharing their curiosities with Me and exploring same. I was happy to discuss things at length with them, introduce them into the local Scene, and help them explore their feelings, and close friendships grew through time.

That said, someone totally new to BDSM still usually has desires, wonderings, *something*...inside that drew them to explore it. For Me to consider a newb, (*chuckle*), he would have to be ready to reach into that part of himself and be open to learn, question, share and experiment. He would have to show Me he is actively interested in developing those desires into real-time, either by being willing to participate in scene events, groups, workshops, munches or the like, or, if that's not possible, in reading books and participating online in discussions here and there. On top of that, We would have to have some compatibility and mutual interest in developing something together. So, while it's happened for Me a few times, it isn't often, and not something I'd look for.

~Thea

I tend to attract new people. I think it's 'cause I'm young as well, but who knows.

I enjoy being able to sort of give new people a walk around, because I think my Owner and myself are non-traditional enough to be non-threatening. That is, we're kinda a gateway. From our level of protocal and everything one can get into more strict dynamics.

So, though I'm not a d-type I enjoy helping new people out if I can.

I'd suggest you find out about munches or meetings in your area and get to know some people in your local scene.  If you're really new to it all, you don't know what options are available to you.

Good luck, take care, and have fun!

Showing? What is there to show?

I suggest you start with some serious reading---you state you know nothing--start at Barnes and Noble---The Loving Dominant ( though male oriented----sorry John--smiles) it is a very very good starter, there is another---A Different Loving which I like as well-- those will give you some grounding---then as indicated some local meetings, or reading here at CollarMe---but do be careful about "showing you what submission really means"---first of all it sounds like you want wanking material, secondly one cannot show what lies in one's soul.

Good luck in your journey--

I used to be open to this kind of thing. I've even done it.
But I no longer have the desire, drive, or inclination.
For all the reasons why I'm not into it anymore, check out the helping newbies thread.

IMO, IMHO, YMMV, AFAIK, to me, I see it as, from my perspective, it's been my experience, I only speak for myself, (and all other disclaimers here).
