My screen name is Tie Me With Knots, which I chose for the bondage reference. Recently, I have gotten a few (from different people) messages telling me that the term "tie with knots" has something to do with K-9 play. I blew off the first 2 figuring they were just "yanking my chain" but now I got a 3rd... I am new to the Kinky culture (& I have really lived a sheltered life :). ) so I have no idea what they are referencing or if it is a gag. I tried to google it but got a LOT of strange video descriptions (& I do not wish to open the sites and know anymore). Did I miss something?

To many, the reference to 'knots' would indeed mean something to do with the K9 scenario. You don't actually tie with knots - it's the rope (or whatever) you do the tieing with. Perhaps, on reflection, you should have picked something like 'TieMeWithRope' or 'BindMeInRope'?? Just a thought.

I'm not familiar with K9 play at all, but I think it's a pretty silly assumption for those people to make. The only commonality I could see is those into K9 play also get tied in knots? Perhaps someone more experienced can enlighten us on this. I like your name, and I'd suggest you ignore anyone that wants to read more into it. Can you imagine how many I get from people thinking I'm into water sports? I am NOT an incontinence pad, darn it!

I would not take your profile name to have anything to do with the other illegal activity.. imo, it could be people that are into that other illegal activity that are saying it just to test you to see if you are open to it (since very few are) .. I agree with Poise, just ignore them (block em if they are persistant/annoying)..

As to why some relate that to your screen name, people will see what they want to, heck you should get rope enthusiasts simply because you have tie in there

Your nic tiemeINknotts makes perfect sense to me. You tie rope in knotts to secure your partner in bondage. But there are people out there who assume anything with knotts automatically means K-9, due to the penile knott that forms when dogs engage in sex. Next time it comes up ask them if they assume that because they have a secret yearning for fido. To the Op, I am allowing the thread to stay because it is a theoretical question and not an account of an illegal activity in the United States, and one that is against site TOS. blimey, shows how little i know. i have had mail asking me if i am into K-9. i thought they were refering to human puppy play, not actually fucking with dogs. i can't remember if i replied and said no, or ignored it, but now i know what it is a shall be reporting them. thanks to VAA for leaving this up as now other may learn just as i have.
