Status: offline 		The GOP is in a difficult spot. On the one hand, they've got a party full of racists who are threatening secession because the black guy got re-elected. On the other, they're dealing with a demographic reality that threatens to make them irrelevant if they go with the racists and ignore everyone else.

Now that Lee Atwater's "N*gger, N*igger, N*igger" tape is public, and that Today's Republicans are on notice that although they might not have known explicitly that racism was THE STRATEGY of the GOP, they DO KNOW NOW, and it's time to see if they have the balls to do what needs doing.

I suspect they DO NOT have the balls to do what needs doin'. But they have the opportunity to demonstrate whether they do, or do not.

Status: offline 		Given that it's the core of Karl Rove's playbook, and he made MILLIONS 'advising' and 'consulting' on Romney's failed presidential run, promoting this, I think it's relevant. And again, now that REPUBLICANS **KNOW** about it, the question is, "Are Republicans MAN ENOUGH to throw the racists, and those who promote this strategy out of the party?"

Again, I doubt it, and I don't see any of Our Republican Friends standing up in outrage, but we'll see...

The problem, Fargle, is that if they throw out the racists and the religious zealots and the anarchists and the general purpose nut jobs, what's left? Precious little. I predict that IF any attempt is made to 'reform' the GOP, these elements will 'reform' the reformers right out the door. They have 'purified' the GOP so far that there is no way it can come back, thankfully. We don't need them pretending to be 'Demo-lights'.

That "someone" you refer to is the architect of the GOP's strategy for the past 20 years. Of course, this highlights the ignorance without which the blatant racism of the Republicans wouldn't have been viable this long.

This is so unbelievably ridiculous.

The dude that was an X KKK guy was a Democrat, a few Republicans in this election were morons.

That certainly isn't all Democrats or Republicans.

There's just as many texts being sent to young boys by Democrats as their are stupid concepts being blathered about by Republicans.

Granted, Republicans tend to fall more along religious/moralistic fault lines, Democrats fall more along the fault lines of saying whatever sells...(just KIDDING!!!!!)...it doesn't make your Gramma a heathen or a scarab solely because she believes that YOU should have had a chance to live and breath.

This has been going on since Socrates and earlier.....get over it.

The Dems lambasted George the 2nd (Washington being the first George), Rush Limbaugh fucks with anyone who isn't a Republican, Anne Coulter too, some other chic has a radio show and she and some other guy with bad hair on cable play the opposite end of the spectrum.

Smart people listen to both.

I listen to Rush to get a laugh when I'm out of "X" and I listen to the Dem radio when I want to see how ridiculous people can be (both, by the way....are)....

The Republicans are idiots.

The Democrats are idiots.

When everyone actually realizes that and votes for people like Ross Perot or Ron Paul....the world will be safer, you'll pay an immediate price because both understood that...there's a price to be paid....and you get to pay it because you put these fuckheads into office.....and that, friends....that's when shit is gonna get fixed.

Status: offline 		Good thing Congress authorized that debt for Obama. He couldn't have completely recovered the economy to pre-2008 crash levels.

And we all agree that returning the stock market to pre-2008 crash levels is a good thing. Obama did it in about 3 years ( the current 52 week high is higher than the 2008 high. )

Status: offline 		A majority of married white men and married white women voted Republican in this year's Presidential election. Big surprise. This party has been and continues to be, the party for well off white people. But yes, their "demographic" is shrinking. Welcome to the new world order. Do they have the balls? They haven't had the balls in a really long time. But stranger things have been known to happen. It's just not going to happen soon.
