I was a foolish duck today and last night, and drank just a "little" too much.

This topic i think is what most people can relate to at some point. Cos we're all human, and sometimes do stupid things for the sake of the short term effects rather than focusing moreso on the long term effects.

So i'm so far, trying to drink my weight in water.

But what should i stay away from? In terms of liquids? and foods? and what foods would be a good idea?
I've read that some say fatty, greasy foods. But i really want to be healthy on this. And not pump more crap into my body lol (=

I'm asking here because i like talking to humans, and google has conflicting answers, and i reallllllllllly dont want to prolong how i'm feeling, if i can.

Thanks for reading =D

Alcohol basically extracts moisture from the body. The effect of this on the brain and stomach lining are the typical, headaches, lethargy, nausea, etc. This means that keeping hydrated before, during, and after counters those effects in most, along with having something in the stomach. Some other effective reliefs, high yeast products, and surprisingly oxygen. Those that can, marijuana is known to lessen the symptoms as well

Yogurt....a good thing. Banana's too.

(Best solution.....go to bed).

Sip water.. don't drink too much otherwise you'll feel bloated and worse off.

Dehydration and hangovers cause disturbances in electrolytes, hydration and B group vitamin levels. An electrolyte based drink will do well for hydration. For food - I'd suggest trying crackers first. After an hour if they stay down, they maybe fry 1-2 eggs (spray pan with olive oil), on whole wheat toast with butter.

Feel better soon. Hangovers are the pits!

Bit late to the party, but for the future:

A bottle or two of sports drink and some NSAIDs (e.g. naproxen, acetylsalicyclic acid (aspirin) or ibuprofen).

Do not take paracetamol/acetaminophen within a day or two of getting drunk, regardless of how much your head is pounding.

The sports drinks have the right balance of salts in them while still being easy to drink, while the NSAIDs will reduce the inflammation of your brain and also reduce the pain. Ideally, you want to do some of both before going to bed in the first place. Note that you shouldn't do this on a regular basis, but it is an acceptable measure for an occasional hangover.

I couldn't comment on how effective it is, as I have never had a real hangover myself.

Prevention beats a cure: stop drinking at half a bottle of tequilla/scotch/etc. [:D]

Let Jimmy Buffett tell you how to get rid of a hangover.

Actually, it has a good physiological basis. Grapefruit juice is good for the hypoglycemia and dehydration. the acid cuts the crap out of your mouth that has magically formed over night. Chewing juicy fruit keeps that Godawful taste from coming back. A few aspirine don't hurt either.

Oh really? I was under the mistaken impression we BOTH added something to the conversation.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Hair of the dog that bit you,

My mom tells this story. When I was about 7 or 8 years old, my dad had a hangover and was making a bloody mary. I asked him why he was drinking when he had a hangover and he said "Son, a little of the hair of the dog is just what you need".
According to my mom, I didn't miss a beat. I said "Daddy, that ain't the hair, that's the teeth".
She made him clean up all the tomatoe juice that was spewed all over the kitchen too.[8D]
