Let's not forget the fact that she still can't eat, and it's been days. The only thing she can keep down is water and milk.

Hospital time for sure.

Do you have family members working at the hospital?

Your most recent audio journal entry says you want painkillers but doesn't mention the alcohol.

UPDATE 26/11/12

I caught up with the OP today and she explained everything and was very honest with me. She has seen a doctor, told them the truth, is on medication, she has forms for blood work so I have reminded her that she needs to get these done asap and then make a review appt with her doc a couple of days later.

The doctor has given her an eating plan to gently help her readjust to food again and she is following this and slowly finding herself able to eat a bit more. When out with me she ate soup and a bread roll :)

This wasn't a suicide attempt nor a cry for help, it purely was that she had made an incredibly huge decision in her life (a very healthy one) and I feel that how overwhelming this was and what it meant for her future hit her hard and she turned to alcohol.

Yes she was sheepish, yes she feels stupid and yes she understands that she could have caused serious damage to her liver. It is probably serendipity (I love the way the universe works) in that I was able to talk to her about the liver tumour I had removed a number of years ago and how if I hadn't pretty much stopped drinking ten years prior to the tumour developing, the surgeons quite possibly would have refused to operate on me. In fact, my surgeon said that if I had shown signs of cirrhosis he wouldn't have operated.

She knows she can talk to me at any time and I will bitch and nag at her to get the blood tests and see her doctor for the results.

Funnily enough I know her from fet and didn't know she was on here till I read this thread and looked at the profile and sent a please explain text, which she promised to do in person and did. ::)

smiles Tazzy, I can't begin to explain just how awesome she is for such a young person. She has a maturity well beyond her years in some ways. Most of you know I am a psychologist so it is pretty difficult to fool me, I know the giveaway signs if someone is lying or not telling the whole story.

And yes, she told me that she trusted me which truthfully, is still making me smile something like 9 hours after saying goodbye. And her goodbye hug was enough for me to know that she values me in her life... plus we are makking plans for a pic-a--nic with friends this sunday YAY

I reallly appreciate everyone's concern and also the tough love.

I explained to her how I have known so many people from CM for years and they truly are just as close friends, whether I have met them or not. There is an incredible bunch of people on here and I know how thankful I am to have so many of you as friends, and am going to encourage her to link in with some of my friends whom I feel she can gain some wisdom and knowledge from.

I've heard that drinking aloe vera juice (available fairly cheap at Walgreens) will help heal the intestinal and stomach lining.

It also causes RAGINF diahrrea!!! The extra hydration you can't afford to lose now.

Pedialyte for hydration
Ginger root, licorice root & cranberry suppliments to detox (NO MORE DRINKING licorice & alcohol CAN KILL)
Contact county health department, most have cheap/free nurse practitioners
Contact county mental health in regards to why you thought staying drunk for a week was ok. Alcoholics anonimous is always free so you have no excuse!!

This is chronic self distructive behavior that can & will kill you...just ask my brother dying of scerrosis after 5 times in detox & a month in an alcohol coma. Its bad when someones in a coma & you are angry they were too selfish to actually sign the DNR papers you'd given them in case life support needed to be removed.sadly what was left recovered enough to drink himself into foreclosure & next month homelessness!

Drug seeking, binging & hiding when free medical is available make this much more ominous. An addict hunting is much worse than a serious tummy ache

@ theRose4U and RemoteUser the journal referred to was made the day before she went to see her doctor and she was asking for suggestions on herbal/natural pain relievers as she was concerned that taking over the counter medication may further damage her liver.

The prescribed medication which is causing the extreme drowsiness in her is Pramin
http://www.pbs.gov.au/meds%2Fcmi%2Fafcprami10409.pdf

I grilled her when we met on all of the questions you guys have asked and then some and will continue to do so and to maintain daily contact and regular catch ups. She took her best friend with her to the doctors appointment and he did most of the talking on her behalf and to ensure that the truth was told (that she had gone on a one week bender).

I am hoping to meet her best friend this weekend when I see her next and I will have a chat to him about what to look out for in unsafe behaviours, what to do, who to call etc.

She has been given a very specific diet that will gradually increase the foods she is allowed to eat without bringing on the pain she has been experiencing.

In all honesty i had forgotten that i had made this post here, that's why i didnt comment on it until now.

but yes thanks all for your comments and tough love and slaps in the face. and all that.

i do appreciate wandersalone's friendship very much so! there are some people you just instantly connect with, like you've known them forever, it's strange but it's lovely :)

Again thank you all for taking the time to read this and give your opinion to it.

I'm on the meds that the doc has prescribed for me as well as some naturapathic stuff, and am doing everything i can to stick to the "diet" as strictly as i can. Because i WANT to be better. and i DONT want to ever do what i did ever again. One time is enough :)
