http://uk.news.yahoo.com/dallas-star-larry-hagman-dies-044559190.html

America has just lost another of its great actors, Larry Hagman.

Not that I was ever a Dallas fan, but Hagman was one of the foremost American soap actors.

I definitely had My bit of sad to hear of his passing.

To answer another poster's question, Barbara Eden had very touching things to say, as did Linda Grey. I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Rest in peace, Larry.

I hardly ever watched Dallas, but I loved "I dream of Jeannie".

That is sad.. I guess thats why he wasnt on the New Dallas very much, he was sick battling cancer..

still.. he cheated death for an extra 17 years.. thats not bad, he put up a darn good fight.. not to mention him getting other people to stop smoking, etc.. I remember seeing him on a tv interview many years ago with a mini fan he carried with him, he would blow people's smoke back at em with it.. lol

i was rather surprised when i heard the news. somehow it never occured to me that he was that old. i had an image of him in the spirit world partying with all the other villain actors that have past, but all in role. silly but made me chuckle as a sureal fancy dress party.

I saw him in the Dallas-Ft. Worth airport in 2001..... i didnt recognize him at first.... he looked alot older than i knew him to be...... with very long hair..... he was a great actor i grew up watching him.

I remember the public uproar when he got his liver transplant years ago. There were a lot of very upset people who needed transplants for better reasons, than killing your liquor with booze. But he managed to turn his life around and ended up helping a lot of people. He was quiet involved in the counselling program for new transplants, talking to them about what would happen, and easing their fears.

I was never a Dallas fan, but grew up with I Dream of Jeannie. Definitely a loss. Rest in peace Larry.
