I'm sorry, that's unfortunate that all you meet are "fakes." The thing is, one person's fake is another person's perfect match.

I have been on CM for just about four years and almost a quarter and I've met many people off of here in person one or more times. I had a relationship with a couple of them. One, the man was killed, the other one, it just....didn't work out. But yes, for the most part, they were pretty much "as advertised."

Don't worry, like DarkSteven said, pretty soon you should be able to spot the fake profiles with more ease. At first I couldn't, now my bullshit detector lights right up when I see one. lol

I joined about a month ago. I was slammed with mail. I liked the site but some of the people, I initially, talked to were pretty sanity challenged. I decided not to run out and meet anyone after being here a a couple of weeks. I want to feel safe when I do meet them. I am no less real. I am just less experienced and more cautious maybe. Most people were nice to me overall.

Here the recommendation is more to meet people locally at organized and supervised events. This isn't the site for finding that so far as I have determined. The other fetish site does better with local community and events though it suffers the opposite of collarme with no member search. NO MAIL for some, and not the people they seek typically when they are messaged.
For the confident or experienced at using the internet and able to spot a phony easily, collarme offers an ease of obtaining a lot of contacts. And it's forums are far better organized to find interesting or controversial threads.

I'm always amused by the constant safety recommendations for Safe meeting of people. Safe calls, etc. All the ones I've heard are easily countered by an actual serial killer. (Which is about as rare as a suitable Republican candidate for President?) Or a determined whack job who will complicate your life for months. Except meeting people in social settings were they are known and have relationship histories. Still not absolutely safe but So Much better. And parties are a lot more fun than an essentially blind date. Besides, who that's kinky Wants to do just safe things?
