What that should tell him is the problem is not in SS and that he, as a beneficiary of that program, and knowing full well the benefits it can have to a child, should ensure he finds out where the problem truly is and not penalize those who are like him. But, once again, its the easy way to cut some spending without offending the wallets.

SS returned all the checks to me with a letter stating that those benefits were to be paid out to me. I called and talked with an SS rep on the phone. They were emphatic about it. Two years later I received a letter from SS stating I was overpaid. I replied with an attached copy of their previous letter. They dropped the matter.

And SS has nothing to do with the budget, it is not in the budget, other than the fact they have borrowed from it for decades and the loans are due to be paid back It is not an ENTITLEMENT either, it comes out of your paycheck, we pay into it, to bad the GOP can't be honest about that either.
