I've never experienced such issues in trying to change my avatar before. I've always been able to just upload a pic and that's that. But now I keep getting that "exceeds dimensions" notice, no matter how many times I've run my pic through web resizer. Is there an easier way to do this? What am I missing here?

I use paint which, if you go under Image, then Attributes, it gives you the size. You can change the size from Image, Sketch/Skew to keep the photo in perspective by using the percentage option.

Thanks, tazzy. Do we know what size it's supposed to be, to get into CM? I made it tiny tiny on web resizer, so much so, I couldn't tell what the picture was anymore, and it still didn't work. [&:]
